  1. Thanks guys !! I have fished Seneca since I was 5 and I have seen the many ups and downs this lake has gone thru but I'm truly worried this time, don't get me wrong there are still fish to be caught but the #s of fish that were there are not there now.. I honestly have no answer.. Is it chemicals from the vineyards? Has the lake been overfished? Is there so much bait that the fish are not struggling to forage or is it a combination of all ?? Only time will tell and hopefully this is just another lake cycle and the lake will rebound healthier than ever.. Here's hoping.. Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Saturday 7-15-17 We fished the 333 box tournament launching out of Sampson.. We ran South towards Lodi and got into a bunch of floating debris and a lot of weeds so turned around and started a troll coming back North on the east side. We ran 2 cores 2 coppers 2 riggers 2 divers and one spoon diver.. we definitely struggled right from the start not marking a lot of fish or bait trolled almost all the way back to Sampson before we even had a strike and that was a sub legal salmon that was returned to the waters. At this point we decided to possibly try our luck out in the middle and then possibly over to the west side after a bit of searching we found some fish but getting some size was impossible... The whole day was a struggle for us not marking a lot of fish not catching a lot of fish cleaning weeds and fleas constantly... These are the days that my father always told me about Seneca does not give up her Goods all the time sometimes you really have to work and work hard we did but to no prevail.. We ended up with three very small fish to weigh in and we were surprised to see that everyone was struggling also but there was also a few really nice boxes of fish including grumpy cats (Butch) and Canandaigua Trollers (Bretts) boxes, and also Nicks big laker he weighed in for the 333 tournament very impressive boxes for the fishing conditions guys way to go!! I think we ended up finishing fifth out of about 12 - 15 boats... just want to tell Nick Overacker (reel stories) thanks for putting on these tournaments that he Joe and Butch are running.. Awesome job guys.. Sunday 7-16-17 We launched at Sampson again fishing the FLTA tournament..We ran 3 cores 3 coppers 2 riggers 2 rig rods 2 divers. We had located some fish late Saturday afternoon but could not get them to go so the plan was to go right back to those fish bright and early hoping they were active.. Right off the bat we got into some salmon rainbows and Browns worked that area for quite a while continually upgrading our box until we thought we had our decent silver fish. We then Troll North to a spot that has treated me extremely well over the last few years for lakers.. We did not Mark a lot of fish but we did however pick one up almost every pass we made after we figured out what they wanted.. I personally ran a whole tackle box of stuff down to those fish trying to figure out what would excite them and the only thing I found was the Iron Duke Aqua UV fly, that fly took every single lake trout that we caught Sunday... We caught 17 fish in total and had a decent five Fish Box on our way to weigh in and we're figuring probably a bunch of teams got into some decent fish in the South End of the lake after seeing some decent reports from earlier in the week but as we found out it seemed that everyone struggled down there.. We were able to pull a second place finish out and jumped up to the points lead.. Congratulations to Mike Rollo on his win.. Can't say enough about my team they work so hard constantly switching gear constantly cleaning weeds and fleas so the we always having our best presentation in the water and I can't emphasis enough how important that is in conditions like that if you're not willing to work you're not going to catch a lot of fish... 3. Back in the day there was a Italian gentleman in our fishing club that use to make Lake Trout lasagna I know it doesn't sound great but don't knock it til you try it.. He would use a traditional recipe but instead of noodles he put layers of lake trout filets down instead.. I know he soaked the filets in milk overnight first.. It took me a few times he made it to try it but I have to say it was definitely delicious and was thinking about try to make it the other day... Sorry for stealing your thread but would be a good one to try... Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Thanks guys.. Les that little Coleman grill kept our bellies filled up the whole trip a must have in any tournament lol Thanks Nick looks like you have the silvers in Seneca dialed in too looking forward to the FLTA this Sunday John yes you saw alot of stuff you probably shouldn't have seen but couldn't have shown it to a better guy and fellow troller than you.. Can't wait for Sunday.. We had Rick Martin from East Coast Outdoors on board with us this past weekend and he is one hell of a photographer.. Here's some of the shots he got love the HD quality Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I'll be honest with you I did not like them from the start but once he set them in they pulled extremely well and pulled big coppers no problem like they weren't even on there... we did get into some pretty good waves Saturday afternoon when the wind switched and came out of the North and it handled them no problem.. the only negative thing I could say about them after seeing them run is storing them they are definitely bulky and take up quite a bit of space but definitely pull extremely well Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Lol True story.. You should probably go buy a lottery ticket too Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Couple weeks ago I got an invite to fish with nauti troller aboard his boat for the Salvation Army Derby couple days later Bellis Program called looking for a couple extra guys to fish with him and his buddy Rick so we decided it would be fun for All 4 of us to get together and fish on Josh's boat for the weekend.. SATURDAY Launched 4:45 a.m. out of Long Point and decided to head to one of Josh's hot spots from the week before.. We ran three cores three coppers four divers and two riggers.. We immediately are hooked up with lots of decent lake trout and few smaller salmon.. Our best luck was coming on white Crush glow UV Spin Doctors and paddles with the Iron Duke UV Wild Child , Golden Boy, and Game Over Flies and Bellis Tackle Spoons took most of our inline board fish and that particular program was good for us all day Saturday never stopped catching fish the whole entire day even with extremely bright sun over the top of us... We ended up locating a spot that nobody was really fishing in and there was some really good deep marks so we dropped the divers and riggers to the fish and we are immediately hooked up with two really good lake trout and while we were battling the lake trout we had a board takeoff going backwards (fire drill because someone was napping in the cuddy lol) and we were locked into a really good rainbow.. We ended up Landing all the fish biggest lake trout we landed all weekend was 9lbs 6 oz and the Rainbow was 6 lb 11 oz. We ended up at that point running the fish in to the weigh station at Myers talk to the guys there for a while and had a good time got to meet some really good people that I have only talked to through the internet.. We left and decided the Lake was a little too rough and we were exhausted so we slowly made our way back to Long Point had some dinner got some z's and got up early for the next day.. SUNDAY Woke up Sunday morning realizing we had a full moon and clear skies all night long and figured the fishing was probably going to be a little tougher than it was the day before.. We dropped the same exact program we had been running the day before to the fish and they were not interested so we switched a lot of white spinny's and paddles to bright UV paddles and Spin Doctors and got the Iron Duke Game over fly, UV Wild-Child, Aqua UV and Golden Boy Flies down to them and that seemed to get us going again.. You really had to work hard at getting a true straight troll due to the currents and wind but if you could manage to do that you would catch fish currents were definitely nasty on Sunday.. We caught a lot of lake trout and salmon on Sunday but nothing that would bring us up on the board overall and our board fish did get knocked of mid day Sunday we did however manage a grand slam both days.. We had an awesome weekend hanging out together which we normally never get to do on the lake because we are always fishing against each other lol.. Great job to everyone who fished in the tournament There were some extremely nice fish weighed in and also want to thank Barneys and Bears bait shop for hosting this event they always do a great job...
