  1. http://www.bemindfulbehuman.com/index.php/jerky-week-salmon-jerky/ This recipe turned out pretty good. I dehydrated it like in the recipe instead of putting it in my smoker. You can easily modify a basic recipe like this to suit your taste. Like it spicy? Add some pepper powder. Smoking it? Add regular paprika instead of the smoked stuff.
  2. This is a couple years old, but it was enlightening. I was thinking about these eels and googled it. http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2013/04/post_45.html Looks like these little guys are edible? Who knew!
  3. Thanks guys! I had them pegged kind of wrong. I fish for them like you would in the spring. I assumed the marks close to the bottom were lakers in spots like that. I'll be back at it in a couple of weeks. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I can't get a brown trout on Seneca if my life depended on it. I have tried sticks on long lines, leadcore and riggers up high with bright spoons and sticks to no avail. These setups will pick a salmon or rainbow from time to time, but generally they just wash the lures. I know browns like a little bit warmer water, but is the speed the same ~2.5mph? Thanks for any info in advanced!
  5. It's a Lowrance setup for fast and slow trolling. I don't have a ton of experience, but I couldn't believe that was all bait and fish. A few of the really dense school did make the rods bounce when the line went through. It's no wonder the fish are hard to catch. They don't have to work very hard to find food. The bigger salmon we caught even coughed up an alewife when he got in the boat Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. We had fished marked 40-60. Most action was up high. We had this mark. Wish we could have got him! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Dropped it to 40 feet and it's 52. I know I saw high 40 degrees today. Can't recall how deep. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. My probe is parked at 30 feet right now and reads 55. Top water is almost 68. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. We have been following this line of something for a while now. Is it bait and fish all mixed together? We aren't getting much out of it. Other than that, the 3 and 5 color leadcore sporting an FLT chicken feed got 2 salmon and a rainbow. A different FLT spoon (green glow) took a laker down 80 over 140.
  10. 1998 Sea Pro 190wa walk around cuddy The boat: A solid walk around cuddy, no known structural issues. Runs and fishes like a champ. There is no known survey or inspection done. I have had it just over a year and have had no issues. There is one storage compartment and a baitwell on stern. It has a 1998 Mercury 150 black max 2 stroke injected outboard. New water pump this spring. Runs great. WOT is ~5300rpm's and will push the boat around 40mph. It cruises very comfortable around 3500 rpm in the low 30mph's. I installed a brand new Tohatsu 8hp 4 stroke tiller kicker on a Panther bracket this spring. I have 2 props for the Tohatsu. It trolls excellent with the kicker and sips gas. The kicker has a Contollking throttle controller mounted on the dash. Steering for the kicker is tied to the main motor with a removable linkage rod so you can use the main wheel to steer. Both motors are tied into the main gas tank (55 gallons) through a water separator. It has a Fish-on Sports radar arch with rod holders and a net holder. The arch can be taken off removing 6 bolts for storage. It has a full canvas cockpit enclosure. Clear plastic windows are basically clear, but not brand new. The enclosure has lots of life yet. The trailer: The trailer is a 2015 Venture VATB-3625 bunk trailer. Dual axle, surge brakes on both axles. I bought this last July brand new. Pulls very well with my Tundra. The electronics: A brand new Lowrance Elite 9 with an Airmar B60 50/200 thru hull transducer is the sounder. I have a Lowrance Elite 7hdi mounted on the top of the dash as the GPS. There is a VHF radio mounted in the dash compartment tied to a 4ft antenna. I installed a Millenia stereo in the dash this year that has an aux/usb input for an ipod. It's just an aux in/radio unit. No CD's. I have an XM base and antenna mounted also, but the XM radio doesn't come with it. Everything works flawlessly. The battery for the motors and electronics is brand new. The fishing: I put in a FishHawk X4 unit in. Works perfect. 2 Cannon manual downriggers with swivel bases and adjustable booms. They come with 2 Cannon 12lb cannonballs and Black's releases. Both have new 300' stainless 150lb cable. There are Big Jon manual planer reels mounted on the arch and they have the Otter Boats to go along with them and 10 or so alligator clip style releases. The starboard reel feels a little flimsy on the handle (there may be a crack in the reel body?) but it still works. I'll throw in 6 downrigger poles/reels and about 50 spoons. Enough to get you started. I'm sure I missed something and will edit as I remember. Pics will follow shortly. Asking price is $16,000. Feel free to reply here or text at Five seven zero-854-six three 65. I am listing this to pursue building a house. The toys have to go for now.
  11. The numbers on the Suttons are 22, 29, 43, 61, 68, 47, 41, 66 and some that say West River. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I figured you go us who have been around a while would know best. I came across this bunch of spoons, mostly Suttons and a few that have Miller and Leather Stocking stamped on them. They have a bit of sentimental value, but I wanted to buy them for a fair price. I'm not sure what they are worth, but I don't want to under buy them by any means. Do you guys have any clue what they are worth?? Thanks for any insight.
  13. That was the plan! And then around 11, stop in at the tiki bar to make the no fish day a little less sucky! Hahaha Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I won't have extremely high hopes tomorrow by the sounds of it. I'll just use it as a day to escape being a "responsible adult" and just enjoy the time out fish or no fish! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. I forget about the derby. I can understand why it gets quiet! I'll be up Thursday just to poke around. The weather looks great, so we will see. I'll try to chase the winning fish back to southern waters for you guys! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Not much on the list here for Seneca. Has anyone been out? Did the fish decide to start being less picky?
  18. It's cranked down pretty tight, just wanted to snug it up a hair more. I won't be able to get more than about 1 flat on the nut. Thanks for the heads up though!
  19. There are a couple pictures of the hole and after I got the transducer in. I drilled a 1/4" pilot from the inside after measuring the outside to make sure I had the right spot. The hull was nearly 2 inches thick. I used a ton of 5200 to make sure it sealed good. It is only hand tight right now because I couldn't find a big enough pair of channellocks locally. A new pair are in the way to tighten it down before it hits the water.
  20. My brain failed me with angles! Did you point the arrow straight forward or partially forward? With lowrance you can run single frequencies correct? One can run 83 (or 50) and the other 200 to avoid interference? 200 gets a better picture, but in a pinch just to find bottom, 83 will suffice.
  21. To angle to the bow a bit (if my brain isn't failing me with angles) you point the keel arrow on the top of the tramsducer towards the stern? I am going to have 2 units onboard, but was worried about the interference running 2 Lowrance units. I wasn't going to hook up a transducer to the other unit and just use it as a GPS. The plan was using my Elite 7 as the GPS in dash and the Elite 9 as the sonar. With my little boat, it'll look pretty funny. Go big or go home, right? As for 5200, I planned on using very generous amounts. I watched a video on YouTube of a B60 install and the guy had a pretty genius way of using painter's tape to keep the 5200 from getting all over everything. Once it is on something, it's tough to get off.
  22. You have a PM! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
