  1. That's the thing I am look forward to. It better be worth it. It seems off making a huge hole right in the bottom, but if my screen shows a 2" minnow at 300FOW, it'll be well worth it!
  2. I have been looking for reviews online and I am not finding much. I just bought a Navico B60 thru hull 50/200 transducer for my Lowrance Elite 9x. Does anyone have any insight on a Navico transducer? Most websites just use the same picture as a similar Airmar, but the price is lower on Navico.
  3. I second this. I have a UniArch from FishOn on my Sea Pro and it is pretty solid.
  4. WTG! You guys are making all of us that have to work today pretty jealous. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Thanks for the info! I have the 83/200/455/800 transducer for my 7 with the blue connector. I am thinking of using the 7 as my gps and getting the 9 as a standalone sounder. The connectors being similar is a definite win. With an Airmar or Navico, I am thinking the unit will be phenomenal. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Helps a lot! By aftermarket, I was thinking Airmar or Navico. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I have been trying to find info on transducer capabilities for Lowrance Elite series (namely the 7 and 9). Does the head unit come specifically programmed to read only certain frequencies? The example being if I buy the one that comes with an 83/200 transducer, would an aftermarket 50/200 transducer work with it? Lowrance has a pretty good rebate on the Elite-9's right now and I wanted to take advantage of it. ($300 off!) Thanks!
  8. That was a great forecast, wasn't it? I was excited for a nice calm day and we went in around 1pm sore and tired. I couldn't even get on plane on the way back without getting beat up. I hope the engine issues are best case scenario! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Thanks for the report! We will be out tomorrow. Can't hardly sleep now as it was. This should help... Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Went 1.8-2.2 for some of it, 2.4-2.8 for rest. Figured varying it would try for anything. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I have a controllking. Thanks for the advice. We got on the poles quick and reeled it up. It seemed like they were just nibbling today. Lazy fish!
  12. Rain, rain and rain. Setup up right out of the chute on the south end in 90FOW. Marked a lot of fish in the 40-60' area. Ran a rainbow of colors of FLT spoons and a couple of cranks. No takers, so we went up the east line along the painted rocks, keeping it between 125-175FOW. Had 2 knock offs at the 90 foot rigger on an orange/pink FLT spoon. As soon as the water cleared, the fish weren't there. Trolled up to the falls, marked a bunch of little fish in the mud water coming out there, but no takers. Ended the day on the south again, going back and forth in 90-120FOW where we were marking fish. No takers. The water temp ranged from 36.5 to 41 degrees.

  14. I just saw that last night. I am going to move the transducer this weekend and update the software. Thanks for the heads up! Remember when a $10 rod and reel with a bobber was enough? I am missing those days! Haha! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Thanks for the info! It makes for a long day when you are fishing blind. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I have a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI and FishHawk X4 transducers mounted on opposite sides of the transom. I mounted them that way because FishHawk recommended keeping them a good distance apart. My issue was with interference on my Lowrance. It didn't read great and eventually lost bottom. It is mounted between my kicker and main motor, which is probably havoc with turbulence. Does anyone have their FishHawk and sonar transducers mounted near each other with no problems?
  17. One thing from yesterday, the main lake is 36 degrees, the canal was close to 41. The sides of the canal had 20 people or so casting. It won't be long before the fish are in there, if they aren't already! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I got the old skunk today. Tried coppers, leadcore and riggers parked a anywhere from 50'-110'. Changed colors out in the spoons every half hour or so. I was trying out a bunch of new gear so I didn't feel like playing with the dipsey and flashers. I put a brand new Lowrance hdi transducer on over the winter. Worked just ok, then just afternoon it failed and wouldn't show anything. It would just read random, incorrect depths. We never picked up bottom until we were in the canal mouth in less than 20 feet. Between that and the kicker steering connector rod crapping out, it was a fun day. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I'll see you there in the morning, also! 65 and sunny. Should be a good day! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. I have a pair of Big Jon Otter Boats and line clips for sale. I bought them new last spring and used them a couple times. Very good condition. They only have the single skeg. I will also throw in the line clips. I am not sure what brand they are, but they are solid little clips with rubber covered alligator style line pinchers. Looking for $150 for it all. I would prefer pickup, but can ship as buyer's expense. I live in Bloomsburg, Pa, but can drive to meet or meet in a few weeks when I head up to Watkins (early April). I will post pictures later today of the boats and line clips.
  23. I emailed the company and asked before I installed it. I specifically asked about trailering. The response I got was the no-trailering clause was for insurance purposes. He said to make sure it was secured well before heading down the road. They are just covering themselves in case it wede to fail. I trailered it home last night about 18 miles and the amount of bounce I could see the motor doing was a bit unnerving. I am anxious to see what it looks like on rough water. Hopefully Seneca doesn't gain another outboard on the bottom! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I just had an 8hp Tohatsu installed on a Panther kicker bracket. Beautiful install by Hall's Marine in Muncy, Pa! Does anyone have any experience with these adjustable brackets? It is rated for a 35hp, 230ish pound motor. My kicker only weighs 95 pounds. By the looks of it and how much it flexes, I'm not too sure how well it is going to hold up? The original plan was to trailer the kicker right on the bracket, but I'm not trusting it as much as I originally wanted to. http://www.marinetechproducts.com/pages/550410/ That is a link to the bracket I purchased for anyone who cares to check it out. Thanks for any insight or experience! Cody
