  1. my weekend was great had to work for them but we managed 20+ hits sat and sunday alot of steelies with some kings mixed in. riggers 35-41-55 down. nbk, glow froggy, and yuck spoons. and of course flat lines off the boards 120-130 back boards as far out as possible. tons of bait in 90-100 fow. nothing new for this time of year. but never took a fish around it, marked them but couldnt get them to hit. best depth was 130-240 . north south trolls. in front of blind sodus all the way to the silos.
  2. had a trip today water temp is being pushed in 200 fow is 44-42 degrees on the surface 140 fow is 48 and 100 fow is 50 degrees. all out fish came from 100-140 40 and 50 down on the riggers and flat lines off the boards small orange spoons and sticks. kept 11 lost 3 big steelheads a king and a big laker. and had a bunch of shorts but it was a great 20+ fish day.
  3. yeaa that was a good day we need to head out to fair haven next if fishing keeps up. dipseys out 75-95 riggers down 41 and 30.
  4. awsome im going out today with shade tree will post later on how we do
  5. go get em mr.clean, worst comes to worst go rockie fishing by the chute lol did 30 big ones there the other day
  6. started in 50 fow had alot of marks and bait but nothing never took a hit till 800 when we moved out to 200 fow. dipsy out 311 on a 3 setting with the dalmation spinny and green glow fly. then never had another hit till 10. best producer was nbk down 50 with free slider above it with two skippys. and a couple lakers one the same dipsy. all within 120-140 fow. had to move around to get a good screen. one the way in in 77 fow out front saw a bunch of fish staked from 30 to 70 down. browns maybe?
  7. going out today bringing the wounded warriors, well report how i do when we get back, plan is to head east 50-70 fow running spoons for browns then heading off shore to chase kings.
  8. well it was slowwww never boated a fish till 11. ran f/f all morning with a mix of spoons with fixed and free sliders, dipsys out 175-330 not one hit.. got out in from of west nine mile point went into 100-130 and dropped the cow bells and ended up 4/5 on lakers before calling it a day.
  9. going out this morning will report when i get back tight lines to everyone
  10. i mate on a couple boats and i work for tips and i work my but off alot and at the end of the day i cant count how many days were i walked away with 20 dollers and i still had to put money in my gas tank.. the way i explain it is this a good mate shows up an hour early to get the rods ready and make sure everything is rigged right and all the rods are in order then we go out for 6-8 hours fishing from then is when im back n forth switching lures and and trying differnt ways to put fish in the boat. then when the day is over we come in and i clean all the fish caught i will not let anyone else clean my clients fish thats just me i like cleaning fish and i know the clients i take out like me cleaning there fish. then im at the boat for about another hour after the cleint leaves taking care of the boat and cleaning. i put alot of time and work into being the mate. and if i have the money i do buy tackle for the boat and i even bring a couple of my own rods on the boat with me. i take it serious but i know how to have fun doing it. in all if your a good mate and can show your clients a good time well helping them catch fish you will get good tips. my average tip is 100 dollars but i do get the days were you get 20 -30 dollar tips. and i have days were i get 2-250 dollar tips. alot of it is the effort you put in. and how the cleint feels at the end of the day. another way to look at tipping is think of it like this you go out to dinner you see your waitress maybe a total of what 5 mins. and if shes nice and right there for you, you give her a 10-15% tip. well the mate is with you for 6-8 hours. thats along time.. ik the ocean mates make 20-25 %. thats just my opinion.. on the whole thing i guess.. sorry i just kinda rambled on here. haha
  11. when i was out this past weekend there was alotta bait in 70-130 alott of suspended fish 50-80 done.
