  1. Way to go Kevin and ESOX AC3 didn't have much luck last night tough fishing with boat traffic seemed like there was less boat traffic than normal but they were not as polite to you if you were trying to fish fly right by you up close . Hopefully they got it out of there system. I have to agree with Roybee.

  2. Tried it last night also very slow did manage another smallie . Tried four regular spots and a couple new . Hope to hit it again tonight. Mostly trolling cranks and worm harness. Nice work Roybee.

  3. Tried several spots also caught one small bass. Seem to be marking fish at most spots. Tried trolling and jigging. I am sure it will get better seems early to me but I am sure they are there. Try it again tomorrow night .

  4. Cool, had one on down by fishers landing one night near light house, it was either that or a muskie not sure which one, couldn't move it at all then all of a sudden hell broke loose for a minute and it was over. The guy I was with has fished the river all his life and he looked at me and said I bet you had a sturgeon on one will never know. Would have like to got it to the surface to no for sure.

  5. Heard the same thing Kevin ,where we were it was tough. The ones I know that did all right were on Canadian side. Hope to try nit again next weekend. Water temp was 4 or 5 degrees warmer than normal. 50 -51 deg.

  6. Way to go Kevin ,very slow up north also, personally only seen about 5 fish netted. Water was warmer than normal, we think we missed it where we were , should have been there 2 or 3 weeks ago if it would have been open. Be going back up next weekend but farther up.

  7. post-148929-0-89553400-1461533540_thumb.jpgpost-148929-0-48365800-1461533470_thumb.jpgpost-148929-0-13065600-1461533578_thumb.jpg A buddy and I fished an indian river lake this morning and caught 60 to 70 crappies we threw all crappies back due to size. Most were 8" we did catch a few that were 10" and one that was 13 1/2 still good morning. He was using live minnows and I was using plastics I would say we were dead even on catching about the same amount. I wish I knew what the water temp was I may go back down later in the week after work and see if the big ones are in yet if I do I will try to find out the water temp. Tight lines.

  8. Anybody trying eel for perch. If so was wondering if anybody noticed the water temp hoping to get after the bluegills. Tried it over to lake of the isles with little to show for. Seems like it is slow every where except for down around Oneida lake thanks.

  9. I also tried French creek from 5pm to 7:30 pm, 3 guys fishing one using minnows the other two using plastic only fish caught was a 3 lb. northern has been terrible so far. Went to Lake of the woods this afternoon just to see what the water temp was, ranged anywhere from 43 deg  to 50 deg checked the whole lake mainly shoreline and islands where panfish  should be hanging. Never had a nibble.

  10. If you have a facebook account go to the Oneida lake diehard page, maybe someone on there can point you in the right direction. They seem to be getting them more steady down there then we are up here around the cape and clayton thinking it is do to the water must be warmer. Looks like they get some on Oneida river, some of the pic. they  like they are in peoples back yards so you would have to get permission. They also may come in around some of the marinas I would try it by aero marina seems like when I bought a boat there they told me the crappie come in there in the spring.

  11. Took another trip around the block to see if there was any action. Started at French Creek was 4 people fishing never seen a fish caught, then went up to Krings a few people on shore  seen 2 boats and one canoe didn't look like any one there was killing them also wind was cold. hopefully with this weeks weather, if it was they say it is supposed to be, things will pick up by the weekend . Seen a little skim ice In certain areas also.

  12. Was hoping to get up there today and never made it. North wind and trying to get over what is left of this cold. Weather has not been cooperating last couple weekends looks like it will be here this week and better by the weekend good luck if I hear anything or if I make it up there tomorrow I will post.

  13. Way to go Kevin, nice day to be on the water took the wife and daughter to Butterfield to test run small boat and motor just so it will be ready when things start to fire up. Hopefully get our big boat out in a couple weeks and enjoy the river.
