  1. Sorry to hear about your boat Kevin, I have a boat full this weekend and headed for Lisbon area,  if you need a ride the following  weekend or the weekend of the 16th let me know I will probably fish one day next weekend and probably two days the weekend of the 16th depending on weather. Mike and Beaver will get you squared around .

  2. Kevin has it hit the peak or is it past talked to a guy wed night he said it was loaded. Haven't made it down there this year, been busy trying to get things done before the fishing starts.

A man had to be rescued Monday afternoon after falling through the ice in Goose Bay.

Alexandria Bay Fire Chief David Van Brocklin said the man had been fishing alone on the ice and was heading back to shore when the ice gave way.

He said the angler was about 20 yards from shore and was weighed down by his clothing.

Van Brocklin said state Park Police were the first on the scene and threw the man a rope to pull him to safety.

The man was taken into a nearby home to warm up and did not require medical attention.

Van Brocklin said the man had been in the water for about 20 minutes.

He urged people to stay off the ice now that we're seeing warmer temperatures

  4. Was there yesterday In the morning you can fish from shore off the rocks by the gap . It was open from the camp in the middle out a couple hundred yards towards channel from shore to shore. You could put a small boat in off point, have to carry over rocks. Keep us posted as we  did not fish, I thought there would still be ice so I didn't take any poles or minnows up. Good luck.

  5. Way to go Kevin, Gonna try and get down there tonight or in morning depending on weather. Trying to get things done before winter and hunting season. If not, next weekend got a 4 dayer again so maybe then. MY buddy went to Lisbon on Tues. or Wed. I believe they came home with 5 fish ranging between 20" and 25".

  7. Way to go Kevin, never made it back down there this weekend. To much going on trying to get things ready for fall and daughter ready for school. Hoping this next weekend will work out, only got to work 3 days this week. If and when I go I will post results good luck fishing.

  8. I went tonight didn't get to stay very long it came over my handheld radio bad storm rolling in from Kingston. It called for thunder and lighting and high winds ended up jigging one eye before I left on a spoon in 35 fow. I let it go back around a 20". Hopefully get to hit it again tomorrow night. I was home by 8:30 pm.

  9. Went to the river tonight with my daughter, not knowing what to expect after all the rain we have gotten. First placed I tried caught one gobie and a 23" eye was caught on a jigging spoon in 65 fow. It got around prime time so I switched over to my heavy BB and stick bait and started to troll made several short trolls in a couple of different spots with know luck. I then went back to a spot that can be good doing either trolling or jigging, threw on the spoon and the second drift caught a 27" in 35 fow, was not a great night but it was not a bad night considering the weather we have had. My daughter was happy to be aboard since the last time I went she was gone camping with her grandparents.

  10. You never know to you try though Kevin. Your luck is probably like mine if you would not have went they could of had a day like you guys had last year. I wont forget last year a buddy called wanted me to take the day off.I told him I would pass and go the next time, they caught there limit all three guy on the lake out of Henderson. I went with them two or three days later and same results two boats five guys and a total of four eyes and I think our boat ended up with one eye around 6 lbs and the other boat caught the rest, it was right around this time of year maybe week or so later. I am hoping to get the invite again this year, at least you didn't get skunked. Good luck fishing.

  12. I have two boats I use I have a Lund Alaskan 1600 and a 14'Lund SSV. You an get away with a 14' early mornings and late evenings, durning the day time especially on weekends alot of boat traffic, I would suggest at least a 16' but it is just my personal preference.

  13. I am not sure what size boat you have but they also get walleyes up off Chippewa point and by sisters island. I have also caught some huge small mouth while trolling for eyes up that way. There is also a shoal just out side Krings point to the right that hold eyes I have been told never fished right there, but have fished whiskey shoal where Kevin mentioned and up by Chippewa. Good luck.

  14. That's what I was thinking also. I decided to quit the wind was making it hard to keep every thing just right. Hopefully try it again next weekend in the morning. This was my first outing in the morning so it was not to bad. I will be down there a lot earlier next time for sure.

  15. Fished this morning, got off to a bad start buddy was a hour late. The wind was very strong a lot more than normal. First troll rapalas and a storm on heavy BB landed two eyes a 25" and a 21" second troll one smallie 15" tried several other spots ended up with no other results, also lost one fish thinking it was another eye. Not to bad for being late wish I could have been there two hours earlier.post-148929-0-65923500-1408196399_thumb.jpg,

  16. Way to go Kevin, waiting for buddy to show up to head down there, it's not looking good though he was supposed to call at 4:00 am . I was hoping to be there by 4:30 that's not happening.looks like it should be a good morning.
