  1. I'll let you know what they offer me trade in and if you want it it's yours. Could be restrung but not needed. It's also actually an 11' purchased in 2012 as a leftover.

  2. Yea I hit a real wide flat racked 8 last year high shoulder. I tracked him for about 100 yards then lost blood. I was doing a grid search about 3 hours later and saw him running a doe with dried blood on his sides. This was the arrow and the fletchings were bright red with blood. My dad saw the deer a month and a half later in crossbow season. post-149334-14452922400227_thumb.jpg

  3. You should do none of the above, that's a great morning and close encounter, you didn't miss, wound or spook him so call it good!

I could have shot him at like 25 yards but figured if 25 is easy when he comes to 15 it'll be even easier. It was an awesome morning overall. 2 maybe 3 shooters probably 15 does and 6 bucks all together and now I know what one I want this year. I always have close encounters on Sunday's which leads to my drop in class attendance during late October and early November.
  4. Don't know whether to cry, puke, maybe both. Just passed 3 small 8s and about a 130" 8 all at 15 yards. I grunt 15 minutes after they pass and an easy 140 10 or 12 walks up coming right to the trail they all went down. He looks up past me and one of the smaller bucks chases the does back past and he leaves. As I'm typing that part he comes back after I hit the rattle bag. He comes up the trail that's gonna bring him to 15 yards then turns and goes back to where the trail splits and goes the other way. I was full draw waiting for about 15 steps for him to receive a rage in his cage as they say.

  5. Had a group of four 5 or 6 year old kid adventurers come through and I'm hunting from the ground so I think we equally scared the crap out of each other. Talked to them about hunting for a minute and they went on their way. I don't think it'll affect this last hour and a half too much seeing this spot is a bunch of back yards.

  6. Out for my first sit of the year on some public land in Syracuse. Going to the Super Dirt Week race tomorrow so I figured I could find something to do to waste some time. Not expecting to see much but I found a decent funnel along that fence and it's just nice to finally be in the woods. post-149334-14445121273516_thumb.jpgu

  7. The  "Medusa Buck"

He's got 4 different beams complete freak show.

I would say in the 5 y.o. range, definitely a shooter either way. I hope you get a chance at him!

Maybe I just figured he was a little younger with the lack of a full gut and no real defined chest. Hopefully someone in my family will have a chance to officially age him.

  8. I think that first one is 5.5 or older, look at the nose length, gray in the face he is older than you think. How much of a sway back does he have? I have to believe by looking at his photo he is older.

I guess I could contribute. This is the only good picture we have of him.  Looks like a 10 point not sure of width or real mass but looking at his photo it surely has some beer can mass.

He looks older in that picture but we do not have any pictures from previous years of any deer with noticeable deformities. I have a broadside picture of him I'll have to find he's still jacked up in the rear a little bit and no real gut.

  9. Election Day I will be in a stand, It always seems to be a great day to see Bucks.

The 11th to the 18th is my favorite time to be in the woods as I predominately hunt bow. That being said the 22nd to the 27th is the time when the giants come out of the woodwork to breed the last available does. At least in my short 7 year existence as a hunter.

  10. It'd be crazy to see what he'd look like in a year but there's no way he'd live that long unfortunately. Like I said from the side shots I have of him he's only 3.5 tops and even looking at his rack without the junk he's not a huge buck.
