Took the day off from school to give it one last hurrah before the lead criss crosses the sky as well. It's 25 degrees here so hopefully they're on their feet.

Thats the same one I use.
I was just at dicks this afternoon and they had them there. Think they were around $20.

I use the flextone bone collector. Looks like a antler on the top part off the call. Seems to work pretty well
Thats the one I had it was awesome, easy transition and good sounds from grunts to doe bleats. I think they must have discontinued them though can't find them anywhere.

Just out of curiosity what grunt tubes do you guys use? I have the green Primos with the snort wheeze deal on top and if it's got any moisture in it at all it sticks up. I had the old bone collector tube that looked like an antler which I loved but I can't find it now.

Congrats! She'll always remember that moment, nothing like harvesting your first deer. I still clearly remember even the sight through the scope of my first deer.

Not just saying it because I drive a dodge but it has a lot to do with your truck being a 3/4 ton chevy. For some baffling reason on the 2500 and 3500 gmcs and Chevys the frames are much lower than the bodies and at the center point of the truck even though the differentials aren't bottomed out the frame actually will be touching enough to stop you or at least break your momentum if there's a hump or anything like that in the center section of the ruts. My buddy has an 07 GMC 2500 classic diesel with 33s and we were going back to a pond to camp and fish for a weekend and he was all the sudden not behind me. I turned around to see what happened and we couldn't figure it out, the diffs were clear and it all looked fine but the frame was dragging just enough that he could back out but not go forward past the hump in the trail without a little tug.

That's an absolute slob Id probably cry if I saw that deer so close and couldn't get a shot. The deer you got also looks bigger than 120 inches in those pictures.

Looks like it probably wasn't the hardest blood trail to follow.

It was slow for the last hour and my father had just missed an 8 point so I decided to cut my losses and leave. Glassed the whole hillside and saw nothing so I stood up. Piled my stuff up to come back in the afternoon turn around and there's the smaller of the two 10 pointers staring at me 40 yards away.

Saw a couple young bucks and 5 or 6 does. Seems like there was a lot more movement yesterday morning

Wow thats a slammer. The one I've been after is about that size and I had him 35 yards right at dusk. I drew on him and probably could have made the shot but its just too big a deer to be worth taking a chance on.

4 does after I was here 5 minutes then a mature buck running a doe about 25 minutes ago.

Saw a couple more small bucks and a button buck going ballistic running all over the place. Gonna set up a little differently this afternoon and see how she goes.

4 different bucks so far this morning all on does. 2 definite shooters one of the other one is on the edge because of his scraggly wide rack and big body I think it's an older deer and if he comes in range again he'd probably be hard to pass.

This big boy being just out of bow range every time I see him has me wondering how hard it is to build a suppressor for a .22. I grunted and he came in on a string to 60 yards but stayed in the trees. As Im typing this 2 more does are walking by me.

It was overall a miserable morning to be in a tree stand but I did see the big one I've been after. I grunted to him and he was coming in on a string until a doe ran across the far side of the field and he decided he'd rather spend some time with a lady than get into a fight.
