  2. Nice! Put up a garage door opener for my grandfather yesterday that took alot longer than i predicted. Like 7hours total so I didnt mak eit out. then on top of that i heard my wheel bearing grinding on th eway home so thats in the shop now. Hopefully i get it back by thursday. Having withdrawls already.
  3. Yeah we were hitting that transition water the past few times I went out and had some success on it. Last time I went the fish were sitting 40 to 60 over 70 to 80 foot of water. Might move in some wth the rain but we shall see tmrw. [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Fished the big pond today and found a Brown and a Coho but due to needing to do some work on my grandfathers place tommorow going to go troll for some hemlock trout. Havent been out there in a week. How is it going out there?
  5. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:90 min Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: nw Waves: 3 to 5 Surface Temp: Location: Port Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown: Brown, Coho Hot Lure: mt dew spin doc dreamweaver monkey puke trolling fly Trolling Speed: depends on wave. Ha! Down Speed: Boat Depth: 20 to 40 Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Made it out this morn about 8 and headed right out through Port Bay's sketchy channel to about 40 foot and started draggin 2 riggers and 2 rods off each board. All action on mt dew doc paired with a DW monkey puke trolling fly. No pics unfortunately. Camera was dead and phone left on the dock. Go figure. Brown was all of 18 inches and the Coho was a decent 6 pounder. Knocked abother fish that took off screaming so probably a decent king or a big steel. Again was the dew doc and DW fly. Good luck ====================
  6. Ive heard of people somehow attaching a rubber band to their reel to hold the spool but when a fish hits the rubberband releases to know when theres a fish on. How do you set this up? I've tried lookignup pics on google images but coouldnt find anything. Advice appreciated.
  7. Had about an inch of heavy wet snow this monr. Been a mix as of late with it finally calming down out here in victor. Hope the rain moves away for thursday. I want to get out!
  8. Happens, wanted to go out this morning but the wind changed overnight from north at 6mph to 12 at 6am. Close to 15mph at noon so we decided to go back to bed. Traqlering a boat with no dock in 10+ mph North wind is not fun/ close to impossible
  9. Flying out of the rivers/streams a few weeks ago so im assuming theyve left the smaller tribs. may be some still in the larger rivers. You can find more info on the Lake ontario Tributaries page a few sections down.
  10. That may explain why there are always rubber bands near the dipsy counters at places like gander mountain and bass pro.
  11. That is the sweestest fishing videos I have EVER seen. I want one!!!
  12. I tried the nylon just for the hell of it thursday and didnt mind it. But going to spool the wire onto them anyways. Besides the wire is about half the diameter and should be alot more subtle than this thick braid type stuff.
  13. Fished early morn thursday. Marked alot of fish in the 40 to 60 ft range sittingin the thermocline over 80 to 90 ft of water. Didnt mark anything near the surface. Water was between 47 and 48 degrees at the surface. I dont know how the LL salmon react this time of year but ive caught them when fishing deep for lakers on the random rod i always set out on an inclne planar with a black and silver 4 inch rapala. Also over summer the thermocline raises to between 20 and 30 ft down. if you got some deep diving cranks and stick like deep thuindersticks and walleye reef runners no bigger than 6 inches you should be able to find some if you dont want to use downriggers. Only managed 2 fish yesterday. Both lakers, nothing impressive.
  14. Im hoping to be there by daylight. Just wondering if ill be seeing any on you small boat trollers out there? I've got trout fever!
  15. Godd call guys. Thanks
  16. So if say you catch a trout in canandaiguia you have to drive all the way to trumansberg to waigh it in?
  17. I received some dispy rods from my grandfather recently and instead of wire it had nylon line. I bought some 30 lb wire for them but ive never even seen this before. Thought it was braid at first. He says he used Dipsys with them. Anyone use this before with dipsys?
  18. OMG I feel stupid. Im Registering for this!!!
  19. They should do an all finger lake tourney! That would be awesome. Set weigh in checks at all of the major lakes!
  20. That first picture is frickin sick!
  21. Nice i saw you. And yes we launched out of the south. Just picked up a new depthfinder sunday. Next time im out there will be probably tuesday. Later in the day though. Have a concert monday night and wont be home til about 2.
  22. #1 may be an atlantic. Has that pointy head.
  23. Trolled the southern half of hemlock on the west bank zig zagging between 20 and 60 ft of water pulling spin docotr fly combos and spoons off the riggers, and sticks off the boards. We weret trying to find some more brown and bow action like the week before. Unfortunately my depth finder started saying we were in 160 ft of water(the lake maxes around 96) and 1 ft of water in about 5 feet. The plan was to try to find some action in shallower then headout deep for lakers. Without a depth finder however im not about to go balls deep and lose em. Besides it was red skies that morning and im not takign any chances. (Red skies in morning sailors take warning). Anyways we lost 2 about 50 ft behind the boat and had another snap the floro leader within about 10 sec of being hooked. Hot spoon was s stinger scorpion off one rigger in tangerine and a 4 inch rap off the boards. Overall a dissapointing morning fishing but a great day to be out on one of the last undeveloped lakes to enjoy the scenery. However I shall have my revenge on the fish this coming up tuesday. Tight lines everyone.
