What do the temps look like?

When i first saw this fish on the board I was pretty sure it was going to get beat by multiple fish in the salmon class. Pretty surprise that only one salmon beat it. Nice job on a great laker. I wonder if this is the biggest laker ever registered in the LOC.[/quote Many years ago (might have been ESLO then) a 40lber was caught on the bar with a sassy shad of all things. There is still a pic of it on the wall at East Fork Marina of Dave Chillson and the fish.

I would only do that if I was looking for lakers for summer kings that havent started to stage 48-50

Doesnt surprise me. Over the years I've been fortunate to take a few derby fish on NK's. I have a pic of Patsy (deceased owner) with my kid from 2001 when he won the youth Steelhead division. He gave us a bunch of lures and used the pic for ads. Last year I was lucky enough to catch the winning summer derby brown, 20lbs 11 ounces on a NK. I sent NK an email offering them the pic for nothing in return. It was a cool looking pig of a brown, only 33 inches long, crazy fat. Thought they might want the pic, but never heard a word from them. Too bad because Im an NK freak and more often than not if Im running spoons they are NK's. Love the lures however their customer service isnt the best.

I like the slide divers, I can run leads as short or as long as I choose. When fishing the top of the column the long leads really produce.

Mono has too much stretch to release a dipsy out more than a hundred feet or so. Braid has no stretch and is easy to pop a release at 300.

Im not sure why folks here are so confident that braid is a flea magnet. I have run 80 lb braid (same diameter as 30lb mono) for over ten years and although it does pick up some fleas, most fall off when reeling in. Those that make it to the rod tip fall off when they get to the tip. I like the fact that the braid has no stretch and I can "pop" a release with 300 feet of line out with the flip of the wrist.
