  1. I work across from paychex in Penfield. Today a big doe ran across their lawn closely followed by a spike. Next thing you know a monster white horned ten follows at high speed as well. I'm sitting in my office saying WTF.

  2. Had a nice 8 come by at 545. Only deer I saw. Had a decent shot but it was one of those deals where you wonder if you will get a chance at better. Guess I will have to wait and see if I made the right decision. I've never shot one over 115 inches and I'm hoping (as I have for a couple years) to better that. Was cool though, saw him come, he never saw me and it was great to be out. Back out at a different stand in the am.

  3. Seems strange to be in a tree stand with temps in the mid 70's but I guess you never know. Saw dozens of grass frogs on the way to the stand lol. Cold front moving in, maybe the deer will be on their feet.

  4. Phil is the best. When each of my boys turned ten I took them to Tioga to hunt boar. In both hunts Phil sat in the stand with them while I videoed. He was unbelievable like that and I truly thank him for his part in making my kids outdoorsmen.

  5. I also chose to hang a new stand today. 20 feet up I went to slam the bow hanger into the tree hammer style to get the first three or four threads into the tree and in theory rotate it flush to the trunk. Well I missed the tree and sunk the point deep into the knuckle between the base of my thumb and the pad of my hand. So now I'm up a tree, bleeding better than some of the deer I've shot and still have to finish the job and then climb down. Dumb things happen quickly. Be careful out there, the thumb seems to still function as intended. Hope to be back out Thursday, hope it doesn't screw up my shooting.
