  1. small spoon 10'back, mag 5'. what release do you guys use for the mag though? stacker release clipped to mup leader and a snap swivel connecting the mup leader to the mainline? or is everyone using half hitch rubber bands
  2. were you guys out sunday? we fished 630am-1100 and only got 3. Got a dink brown before 2nd rod went in the water on a 12 color, and a 17#king 30mins after that on wire/fly. That was pretty much our day, ended up dragging a small king for a ways til we checked our lines on a rigger with nbk. The bite just shut down for us we marked a good amount of bait and arcs out there. We stayed in the 120-160 area most of the day tho.
  3. the rigger was set at 70' and later 90'. we use 8# weights there was some blowback not sure how that effects the arc in the line...
  4. yes. maybe took out too much of the bow i guess. Both times it was down at the main line release when we tryed triping the rod to switch spoons. only other thing i can think of is maybe a small fish hit and pulled the spoon down? the releases were cranked pretty tight.
  5. i am using this on church tx-44 board should i splice in some 40# mono for where the board clips? i noticed it was wearing out my braid backing where the release holds.
  6. tryed free slider for the first time but it kept getting hung up on the rigger release making it impossible to trip when retrieving line. Not sure if it worked its way down quick or what. spoon was super slim glow frog. it did take a shot at one point saw the rod slack up for a few seconds but fish wasnt around after that.
  7. son of a. how many times should i wrap around for the albright knot? after 5 it gets pretty hard to pull tight and animated knots says to do 10. or do you guys prefer some kind of spro swivel?
  8. I noticed that I have some lead exposed at the albright knot to backing (tear in sheath i guess). Is this a weak spot or is this common with leadcore knots? The knot is 12 colors back so it is a pain to get to and retie.
  9. Got a few questions: do you have any newer pictures? looks like these are the same pictures from last years post from another member. Where is this boat located, Seneca Lake? And does it come with planar mast?
  10. What color spoons are best to run as cheaters (sliders not fixed)? Thinking the stinger standard size or dw ss for the size. Are NK 28s too heavy for sliders?
  11. interested please pm for prices. is there difference between mags/regs. would like them rigged, thanks.
  12. does 'this' spoon or 'that' spoon seem to take more fish than regular die hard pattern?
  13. wow nk cant even reproduce them... thats poor. that would explain it tho. are they producing any spoons right now? or is it just a problem for certain color spoons? nks paint has always held up great for me
  14. syracuse area, but ive checked pulaski
  15. Can't seem to find any, even the NK28 ssw seem to be sold out. The only place I have found is to order direct from NK but then you have to pay 5.24-5.50 a spoon + shipping and + tax i bet.
  16. Been using walleye boards but would like to tow some heavier lines like a 300 or 400 copper or 10/12 leadcore. Saw a youtube video and looks like they can tow divers as well. Just looking for input.
  17. i see the reels for $105 on ebay but they are not the highspeed reels. ratio is only 4:2:1
  18. What reel do you guys prefer for 12 color lead cores? want enough room for plenty of backing as well, thinking Okuma Clarion CLR-553LS but seems pricey. 6:1 ratio tho! any good alternatives?
  19. I bought a pre-rigged 5 color core and the knot that came on it from lead to flouro leader is too big it takes some shoving to get it through the levelwind part of the reel. Im using daiwa great lakes 47 sealine reel. Should I cut and tie something or just chance it getting caught up there? I didn't notice the first knot from the braid to lead. That made it through with ease...
