  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I have about 10-12 bags of dropshots to try so I will dropshot and use a swimbait when searching for fish. I will try to report each day.
  2. Hey guys. I am heading up for the first time this weekend. Going to be launching out of swan bay. I have read dropshot, jerkbait, jig and worms are all a good starting point. Any recommendations on locations(areas) to fish. Not looking for your honey holes just a baseline area to start. Right now I am thinking 20-30 flats and rocky shoals. I have also been told to make sure there is at least some current where I am fishing. I will put a report on sunday or monday.
  3. You can do what I did. I got a brand new credit card from Chase. They are offering $150 cash back if you spend over $500. I got the X4d from Northwoods as well at 699.99. So with the $150 off it is now only $550 for the X4D new which is cheaper than you can find used online. Northwoods def. has the best price out there!
  4. Muskiedreams: This bait is caught or raised in Cayuga and nj by professional bait fish wholesale companies. They then sell this bait to tackle shops all over NY as certified bait. I fish the NY city reservoirs who have very strict rules and have never had an issue and 90% of fisherman use them. You can transport this bait because it is bought certified bait and not hand caught. The 10 day rule on the receipt is what they check for Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. My tackle shop tells me that 1 dealer is from Lake Seneca or cayuga and the other is Lake hopatcog in NJ. I've fished Hopatcog and they have large nets/baskets that float around the lake and capture the alewife. There are signs on them to keep boaters away. Not sure of their process to get bait certified but these places wholesale to all the tackle shops in my area.
  6. I am in southern NY and as you can see on the regulations I can transport and use them anywhere in the Hudson valley. Every tackle shop in the area (10-12) all carry certified alewife. The dealer is in the finger lakes region and sells to the 6-7 counties around me. So as long as you are on a body of water on that list and your bait is certified you are fine. I have been stopped many times by DEP and DEC and never a problem as long as I have a receipt.
  7. Yes, Please stop Posting!!! This is what they mean when they say sometimes life is just not FAIR!!. Congrats on an awesome day out there.
  8. I put a report from Monday in the mexico/oz thread. I found kings in 140-200 fow (90-120down). Had a couple riggers go off but no fish on other end. Ended up with a 10lb steelie in 205 fow 120 down on UV salmon Viagra stinger.
  9. I was out today and only managed a 10.4lb steelie. Marked lots of fish 90-120 down in 140-200 fow in-between the plant and Oswego. Just couldn't get a bite. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. If I have a 500 copper but the fish decide they don't want to be that deep. Can I run 400 copper off my board with the rest on my reel? I have done it will leadcore running 6 colors out of 10 . I usually just have to put it in the top holder on my trees. I don't have 5-10 rods for copper so if I get 2 500' that will allow me to fish many depths. input???
