  1. Tried an afternoon troll today. Lake was chocolate on the south end from the queen. Temps were 35.5 in main lake and a bit warmer in the canal. The area around the salt plant was pretty void of bait just a small bunch just a bit to the North. Made my way North along west shore nothing. Worked out deep most of the bottom in 300+ fow was covered with bait. Ended by heading back south after the wind picked up out of the North, it pushed the cloudy water in shallow and there were a few fish on the bottom in 170-150 but no takers. So I will call it what it was a SKUNK. nice getting out though. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  3. Thats really cool, I always struggle with the when to quit factor and my dog. I always trust her, but without confirming blood its very tough to continue tracking. If we know for sure it's a killing shot I usually go till we can't go anymore. Congratulations on finding him great to be able to respect a buck like that, and give him a home to be admired in. 6. Blows the theory that they drop em earlier in a hard winter. I have seen a buck on April 16 th with one side on still, that's as late as I have seen em and earliest dropped was late December. Picture of my first find this year Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. Very nice Joe! Beauty. The reason I believe the picture is cause of the ice on the rigger... it was cold dude Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. With the wind forecasted for Sat and sat night there shouldn't be much if any ice at the launch. If the wind Sunday is over 10mph out of the North there will be two to three footers. The area around the salt plant looked the best with bait deep but very abundant. The west shore water was crystal clear, stealthy presentation if going shallow, Good luck! 13. Good luck guys, bait was really deep concentrated by the salt plant in 260-300+ fow, water clarity was super clear, could see ff down 40' , the shallow program may be good early in the am, I wouldn't be afraid to drop a 13lb rigger down 200' and see.. if I were out again I would concentrate on the area around the plant then head North, there was some bait on the bottom in 180 to 200' along the west shore. Yesterday there was some skim ice on the West side by Hector Falls with a bit of color in the water there too. I would have tried that area a bit more but the ice was no fun to troll through. GOOD LUCK, let us know... Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  15. Well, made it to the launch at Seneca harbor hotel by 8am, totally frozen 3/4" ice.... no problem broke up some by ramp, saw a huge perch right next to shore under the ice. Got the boat into the water and started it, no pisser water coming out... put it back on trailer and tried one more time, voila, water,. Could of been cause it was still single digits out. So broke my way out to lake and set up shop by 9:30. Beautiful morning, the lake was like glass. Not another soul to be seen. set out ten color core, and two down riggers, nada... Tried shallow with sticks on board and three color core, deep where all the bait was, (mostly 260- 400) all down at least 180', nothing. The west side had gin clear water, the east had some skim ice by hector falls and a light green tint to it. Did have a shaker on my one rigger but it came off (on the cheater spoon), about a mile North of the plant. Wouldn't trade the day for anything... hearing the singing of the rigger wires almost put me to sleep, saw a mixed flock of 24 snows and a pile of canadas flying north, we'll be catching em soon enough, soon enough....
