  1. Ride looks great Nick! Had to catch fish with Magic Mike with ya. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. The bait starts to pile up in the middle of the lake just North of the drop this time of year usually 260 fow or so. Lakers sit on top of em but debris can be bad if you get a south blow. run a mag dipsy with FF or rigger down 120 or more, won't be long those bait fish will be moving in to spawn! 3. Nice! Congratulations! Spur lengths? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Buddy of mine didn't move a rod on Cayuga today too, the switch in wind seemed to turn in the bite at Owasco today it was about 1:30, beautiful day out there. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Launched at the south end marina and I must send out a thanks to the gentleman who works there, or owns it.. he helped me launch since I was solo, it was appreciated. I stopped at KH redemption and got some fat heads. Tried several spots for perch without luck. Started trolling with surface temperatures at 36.5 nothing in shallow so I hit mid lake headed North, the screen looked awesome 170 fow was the ticket, when the wind switched out of the south the bite turned on like a light switch. First Laker came on a 5 color lead core with a mixed veggies spoon. Everything I put out took a shot or two with lots of soft hitting fish. Largest Laker was 9.5 smallest was 6 lbs. Fun afternoon and the only boat on the lake. Hot spoon was a pirate that can be seen in pic. The water was green and visibility was poor. Thus I used the brightest lures I had. Also a old Miller spoon size 44 1/2green was hot, used as a cheater. Released all but the smallest fish. Dunno where the perch are..?? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Very cool! Nicely done! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Good luck, our birds are a few weeks behind. Post your results. I had a chance to go ( but didn't) to Ohio quite a few years ago to visit with call maker Marlin Watkins he makes a killer box call! I have one that he personalized.. he would be mad if he knew I just keep it for looks cause it has a killer sound. He makes a replica of Neil Costs box. 8. I agree, and hopefully my comments weren't taken as a bash in any way because I call em how I see em, but again I'm just one voice on a family friendly forum I enjoy reading. So debate is healthy done in a mature tasteful manner. I just wondered if you realized that my previous comments about being a naysayer is what I have observed over many different posts PS... my wife thanks you for your kind words about teachers. 9. Rol I think you miss my point, its the kids that aren't taking the test are skewing the overall results and that looks bad for our hardworking teachers. We live in a very poor area and many of the parents could care less if their kid passes or not. The parents that are opting out are inadvertently hurting the teachers efforts. Using our kids as a political leveraging tool is not what we should be doing. Instead we should be supporting our teachers by getting more involved at the local level of your school board meetings and maybe if you have kids open up a better communication channel with their teacher. The teachers love their students and these kids are our future. If you want my political opinion, hopefully we raise a kid that turns out as a better governor than Cuomo. Just curious why do you jump on every post that speaks negatively against liberal politics? This is certainly a conservative forum we all love the outdoors, water conservation, and definitely fishing. I am not on liberal based sights trying to get hydro fracking passed. So why would you want be the naysayer?? Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I would hire the one who did not take them, I would base my opinion on work ethic, willingness to learn and those qualities have nothing to do with this test. The parents are the ones opting the kids out, not the kids. My wife teaches and the parents that are opting their kids out are typically college grads that see the idea of standardizing a test just to try to bring all kids to a certain level is just ludicrous. The teachers are going to suffer because the kids that are opting out are typically the smarter kids, thus the teachers score cards suffer and they potentially can lose their job. Backwards is backwards... the answer is not standardized tests but more attention to individual kids through a better student to teacher ratio. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Very impressive Jason! Good luck to your little ones, going off to schools of fish getting bit! Sounds like the college I went to!! Colors and finish look great! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Lol, Joe tough to get the "theo" (the old lady) out in the morning cold but looking forward to Keuka. Hey just a side note not one of my Lakers had a single bait fish in it.. Gonna turn on hot n heavy in a week or two. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Wow that brown was a slob! Congrats again on a great win and a great start for your FLTA year. Just curious but what did that brown hit on??
  14. Thanks Jason, man you had some tough luck today was thinking about you guys today hoping you would make it out, you have to have some good luck coming after that day... Btw that land locked salmon was huge Josh! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. thanks Mike, you had a nice 5 fish limit, gotta show me how to catch silvers, or probably where, Seneca is tough for me. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. Launched at Severne at sunrise, cold and had a steady south wind pushing small white caps. Decided to head North with the waves. Two Lakers in the boat by 7:30 one on FLT king of sting and other on ITO green fly behind froggy SD. Got North of long point and found fish in 190 fow two doubles and the fish kept getting bigger. Big producer of the day was custom FLT paddle with blue ITO fly. Ended up 8 for ten with no silvers. Three biggest fish weighed 24lbs even, Congratulations to Joe n Nick with an awesome 5 fish limit of 24-5. Beauty of a day to be out spring may be here to stay!! Picture of ten lber Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I think that the bait you mark out over deep water has a different look to it. Sometimes I think they are smelt, but they are much smaller pods of bait and kind of show up as a horizontal streak.Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. There are very few smelt left in the fingers. Haven't seen a good run in years, just my opinion but I feel we should let em spawn without harassment for a few years... maybe they will make a comeback Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Wow! Nice Les. We were fishing for cats on the Susquehanna in a boat in 18 fow ,fish on and my buddy sets the hook and the lantern goes swimming. pitch black out. my buddy takes his rod and drops his line down and hooks it first try, we still talk about that lucky shot.. I paid him back that same year when he got pissed and threw his 6 iron in a pond I stripped and walked in and got it for him, said you will need that on the next par 3, getting stuff out of bad situation thats what friends are for... May have been some drinking involved in both situations. 21. Anything dropped to the bottom and retrieved quickly... white tube, weighted swim bait, white rooster tail all produced fish. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Definitely Cayuta :D Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I think that it is like a shiny new lure that catches a lot of fishermen and not a lot of fish. Keep your tank full of good quality non ethanol gas and use the stabil for your lawn tractor... just Imo.. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Kinda funny last time I went out on Seneca for perch I tried four different spots with two other boats in tow, with them following me, I thought, these guys think I know what I'm doing, ha fooled them... I didn't catch any and I doubt they did.. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Awesome! At least someone got into em! Nicely done! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
