  1. Is it handheld? I dont have a lot of room to mount a full size.
  2. Sat in 90 FOW today, jigged up some lakers. Nothing big to speak of. Somehow managed to foul hook one too.
  3. Id only go at night if it was going to be relatively calm out. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Are the boafang reliable? I cant believe how cheap they are lol
  5. Salmon action was ok over the weekend. Ive had a lot of marks down 40 to 60 between 70 and 150 FOW. Youre probably gonna get into some lakers even if you dont want to.
  6. I think Slippery Sinker opens around 6 but I havent been there in a while.
  7. Thanks guys, Ill have to check those out, and thanks for the tip on the antenna.
  8. You could also go west and launch at Fort Niagara and fish the river. Last I heard theyre still getting some steelhead and lakers in there.
  9. Im looking to buy one after putting it off for 5 years. Looking for suggestions on brand or model and such.
  10. I catch a lot in the 8 to 12 pound range but some get close to 20. I hit bottom then lift in 2 feet or so and rip it up then let it flutter down. If im using a swimbait or a rippin rap ill reel it in slow and get them too. Sometimes ill cast them out and bounce them back to the boat and lakers will just pick it up and start swimming away with it.
  11. Slippery Sinker will have flys but im not sure about mooneyes.
  12. Ive been marking fish from 30 to 40 down and within 5 feet of bottom for the past 3 days out of Wilson, if what you put in the strike zone isnt getting hit just change some lures out until you find the winning combo. What time are you planning to launch? If the wind cooperates ill be fishing out of Wilson Saturday and Sunday.
  13. I jig them a lot. I use spoons that are 2 or 3 ounces. If I use plastics ill use a 3 to 5 ounce jig head based on the wind. I like to go big with 5 to 7 inch white or chartreuse swim baits. Definitely add a stinger hook. I usually start in 60 feet of water and head to 100.
  14. 1 or 2 miles, it drops pretty quick, there will also probably be a bunch of other boats in the same area you want to fish so just get in line with them.
  15. Depends on how big your boat is. I use the olcott webcam to make my final decision on going or not. Since its about 6 miles from Wilson its pretty good at telling me how bad it is. As far as wave height Id say 2 footers if the report is right. http://www.backbaymarina.com/backbay-marina-webcam/
  16. All the lakers I caught in 70 FOW released well. Just hold them in the water until they kick and they should go straight to the bottom.
  17. All his paint jobs look amazing, I will probably grab a bunch of them soon. I might just hang them on my wall and look at them.
  18. He was very nice when I talked to him. Ive got nothing against him if I was on tv I would do the same thing.
  19. Yes he also got fined for catching fish then casting back out to catch it again for the camera lol.
  20. Those look awesome! Almost to pretty to use.
  21. Headed out to 70 feet of water to try to put my buddies on some lake trout to have some fun. Ran two downriggers for lakers and ran two wire dipsys for salmon. Landed 5 lakers in two hours then the bite shut down so we headed in to some shallower water to try to chase kings. Landed a 19 pounder in 55 feet of water on a lemon ice spoon. Lakers hit whatever I threw down to the bottom. Put a 15 pound laker on the LOC board but it doesnt look like it will last too long. Also talked to the host of Canadian Sportsfishing, Italo Lebignan, at the launch on Friday. I was star struck lol.
  22. Same for me all lakers had one rip off some line then get off. Saturday will be better.
  23. I will also be out of Wilson for most of the next two weeks, maybe the kings will show up in some good numbers soon. If they dont ill go to laker town. The other option is to just have some beers at Jeans and keep the slime out of the boat hahaha.
  24. Well, looks like I need to chug some beer, throw all my valuables overboard and get naked to have the most luck. Ill have so much luck I wont need skill.
  25. The real question is, Is there anything the average fisherman can do to help?
