  1. Otters. Double keel. Take a look at 95% of the charter boats. Almost ALL run the otters.
  2. keep the wire for the dipsys and run the same size on both sides. Outside on a 3 setting shallower on a 10'6" rod and a 1 setting on the inside deeper on a 8'6" rod. As far as leader length from the dipsy to the spoon play around with it. Sometimes shorter is better sometimes LONG works best. We usually start with 9' of leader from the dipsy to the spoon but sometimes 12' and even longer works best. When going longer you will have to handline the fish to the net. With some practice it really isnt hard. The slid divers work good to but I'd just stick to running wire dipsys in the same size
  3. You got that Brian. Hard to argue with a guy who has been doing this longer than Ive been alive and as Brian stated spends more time on the water in a month than most do all season. We can ALL learn from someone like this. It's his livleyhood and he sees what has been going on at Lake O for a LONG time. He's only tryin to make Lake O better and we should ALL listen. You can come up with all the figures and studies you want but I would tend to believe someone like Vinny over some guys who sits in an office all day and hasnt been on the water in years. THANKS for your concern Vinny
  4. if your launching out of wilson I would check right out front before heading to the bar. We had good temp, good screen, and caught fish yesterday right out the front door
  5. Funny you say that. We were discussing where to go sat for the WHI. We were east just past the plant friday(we didn't go far enough east) and werent marking much bait or fish and the water was COLD. As we were at the harbor docked we saw bait EVEYWHERE in the harbor so we opted to watch the shotgun start from behind the pack and head out the harbor a bit and drop em in 8 FOW where the water was a bit warmer on the surface and bait was present. We didn't see much action so at 9 we pulled rods and headed to the bar. We found a small patch of warmer water where the temp was consistent from the surface to 20 ft down and both bait and fish were present but we only managed to get 1 king and a few lakers. GREAT tourney though
  6. GREAT tourney. THANKS to Kevin and everyone else who was involved in making this a top notch tournement. It was the first WHI I fished and plan on being back for many more. Congrats to everyone who did well. It DEF was a tough bite
  7. I'm new to the site, and what a great site I might add. I book trips on the waterwolf several times a yr and Bob and Darryl are truly GREAT guys. We were all glad that you were able to get your gear back. Good luck the rest of the season
