  1. Well, not exactly the view I was hoping for this morning! My almost 2 year old had surgery at Strong on Monday, and early this morning he woke up with bleeding and some complications. Took him to the ER in Elmira and they are transferring him back to Strong. As much as I was looking forward to being in the woods today, family is always my #1 priority!20191019_095955.thumb.jpeg.8ce0e67dfffeb172e4240f785d7e6837.jpeg

  2. Finally got the right wind to be able to sit the ground blind looking over clover / chicory / turnip plot. Big deal for me because I'm finally able to get the guy who has helped me shed hunt, pick rocks in food plots, mow, trim trails, brush in blinds, check cameras, you name it hes all in. Super special because it's our first real hunt together and hes my 4 year old son! Hes deserves to be here just as much as I do and hes pumped!!

That's great! Brought my 7yr old son last Saturday. Had a six point walk 10 yrds in front of us. He was pumped. The buck lifted its leg and licked itself and my boy lost it.
    Fun times!

  3. First sit of the season, and I could have taken a slammer buck.  I didn't even pick up my bow.  If I had, I think I might have shot him, because I probably couldn't have stopped myself.  But i decided before I went out yesterday that there was no way I was shooting a buck this early and moping around the rest of the season.  I know, I'm crazy.  I could have been fishing, duck hunting, shooting does.  And I would have gone through the fall feeling a certain lack.  There's something about the focus and intensity in late October when the rut kicks in and you're on edge knowing any moment could be THE moment that I can't get doing all those other things.  I'd be giving that up by poking a random stud that wandered across my set early.  I was up in the middle of the night wondering if I'd screwed the pooch, but I'm okay with my decision this morning.  At least it wasn't work keeping me up lol. Time to go hunting!

That's always a tough decision to make.

  4. I have hunted in a saddle and used climbing spurs. The mobility is phenomenal. However, it is challenging to get into a steady shooting position in a saddle. Also, I stopped using mine because I learned it was illegal to use climbing spurs for hunting. The laws may have changed. On the plus side, you can climb quite a bit higher 30-35ft in a good tree to manage your odor envelope and take one hell of a nap if so inclined[emoji4]. Good luck!

Thank you! From what I read, spurs are illegal on stateland but I haven't read anything saying so on private land. I'll look into it. Do you have a set up you want to sell, or recommend?

  5.

Good solid boat. Paint is as expected for the age. Has an 05 9.9 mercury bigfoot kicker with controls. Fish hawk x4d, Lowrance elite 7 hdi

Tracks with a triple tree, double dipsy, and quad rod holder. New scotty electrics last year.

Dual batteries on a perko switch. Ship to shore radio and antenna. Has newer cover as well. Trailer has a spare with mount, and new led lights. Boats served me well, but looking for something bigger.

    $10,000.

  6. There is no tourney in Oz this weekend. Other than the 3 county slam. My morning trip was cut short and we ended 7-15. Had just found a good pod of fish when we had to pull lines. They are spread out. I had spoons, flies, and meat go. 250,300 coppers, 180-240 divers. Speed was everything. Worked anywhere from 95-210!!

Pretty much what we ran but no where near that action. Guess I'll stick with the same program and tweak things alittle.
