  1. Thanks for the pics. They are about a bit since I came home Wednesday.
  2. Was there yesterday looking to get out and both launches were too high for me to launch solo. The Henderson launch was all but in the parking lot. The Stony launch was less than a foot from the top of the wall. Headed back up Saturday for six days but fearful levels are going to get higher as predicted. Any thoughts, more recent reports or forecasts posted to this link would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. Just south of the Henderson town launch on route 3 there is a NYS boat launch sign for the Stony Creek launch. It is shallow although it should be okay now for a smallish boat. It is a long run out to the lake. Make sure to stay in the channel. It is rocky. Also, you have to run a good ways out into the lake to get around a shoal if you are headed south. https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/pfrstonyck.pdf Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. I was on charter just this past Monday and one of our party just would not listen to the instructions from the captain, who was great by the way. Anyway after dropping about the tenth fish on the second day of our 2 day charter, the 11th was hooked. The fisherman said, "I hope I don't lose this one." The captain said, " Well keep doing what you've been doing and you are gonna'." It was great and we all got a good laugh out of it. The guy finally decided to listen and landed his fish!
  12. Thanks for all the replies. I am thinking I may trim up my big motor and my kicker and run out with my trolling motor set very shallow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. Is the inlet deep enough for me to get on the lake with an 18' windshield boat. I only need about 2' of water. I am considering renting a cottage there for a few days.
  15. I have one on my 18 ft Skeeter MX. Runs great, but I had a hard time getting it down to anything lower than 2.8 MPH, so I added a kicker last year. I tried trolling bags and they worked but they were a pit of a pain. Not sure I made the right move, but it sure is nice to set it and forget. I get it going about 2.1 ish, drop the trolling motor, put it on autopilot and off I go. I get about 4 hours of fishing on my trolling motor batteries, so I have started setting up the trolling motor, turn the prop off, and then when we hook a fish turn the prop on and we can concentrate on getting the fish in the boat. Will be nice when fishing myself which I haven't done yet.
  16. Try in close from just past Sandy Creek south/west along the dunes. Just be careful of the big shoal just west/south of Stony. It should be on your electronics.

  18. Thanks for all the comments from my friend. He is not a cell phone/computer person. He is on a streak of good luck. Killed a bull moose in Newfoundland last year, and a 599 pound black bear in PA the year before. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I was not with them, unfortunately. Fishing 20-30 feet of water. They caught the brown on a spoon, “poor white boy.” I believe it was on 4 colors of lead core. I am not sure of the speed. He does not have riggers in his new Boat yet. They also had reef runners out on planer boards. I am guessing they were going 2.2 ish but Am not sure. I know when they fished for browns in the morning they were trolling in the high 2’s. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  21. They had a 30 minute battle. They were set up with 8 lb fluoro leader. We’re actually fishing for walleye.
  22. 26.35 pounds. In the Henderson Derby, not the LOC. We we are all pretty much rookies. It was their first trip with his sons new Boat and setup. It worked. They caught 6 browns and a king their first morning.
  23. My friend caught this one last evening. No weight yet. Weighing it at Henchens this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I heard that most of the boats are heading to the Nuke Plant
  25. Saw you guys weighing your 31.02 at Woody's. Thanks for the good post. Good info. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
