  1. Hello Guys, we come from VT most years for spring browns. Its always hard to plan a week to be there due to weather obviously. I debated with one of the guys I go with, and based on the type of winter we have had he thinks April 18th to the 22nd will be too late for the best shallow brown program and water will likely be too clear. Do you guys mind giving me your thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Definitely Some of the best spring brown fishing to be had then. Hard to beat last 2 weeks of April.

  2. I have been shooting Easton FMJ shafts with 100gr Muzzys since the shafts first came out. And IMO there is no better combination for maximum penetration. Have Had Numerous shoulder and frontal facing shots with the deer folding in its tracks. I used the same shaft to kill 2 140” bucks back in 2011 and 2012 and a couple Doe. Best shafts on the market hands down.

  3. I asked that same question when I was first told about it. The answer was three parts.

    1. 99% of the fish caught on 3 treble lures were caught on the end/middle treble. Never on the front most

    2. With nearly all hooked fish being on the middle/rear hook it leaves the front open and swinging around to get buried in your hand when handling fish

    3. For netting purposes it just gets tangled

  4. I remove the trebles on all my stickbaits that have have three sets. If they have two I leave them on. An old
Captain told me to do this and ever since I’ve done it. Caught plenty of fish with them removed. I never did run one with all three next to one with the front one removed for a true test.

X2. Been doing it for years and they run fine and they seem to catch just as many fish.

  5. Our first trip of the year. We Launched around 9am and headed straight to Ginna. Ended up 15/20. Lots of small 2-3 lb fish butt managed a couple nice ones. Fish all came on Bay rats, Smithwick Rogues and a couple weight rods in the prop wash pulling Stinger KFC spoons. Got rough around 1 and we headed back. Water temp off Ginna was 42 to 44dgr. 6. Daiwa stopped making parts for these reels about a year or so ago. I called Tunas last year before I sent a couple old 47h to them. They told me they no longer work on those as parts have become limited.

  7. I run a 5ft King Kutter Tiller for most of my plots. Usually just 1 pass and it’s done. But for hard packed or rocky ground I run a chisel plow through it before I fit it with the tiller.
