I only hunt over my bait pile. I had a couple fox come in but nothing as of lately I am thinking of moving it a little further away from the house. Any insight on how far would be good I have a driveway alarm that works great with a camera setup over it. My only thought is that the scent of my dogs might be driving them off? I have had a fisher cat and lots of coons but no yotes yet. Right now it is 100 yards from the house near a field line. My buddy that runs dogs on state land about 3 miles from my house says the state land is loaded with tracks where I'm only getting a few fox tracks.
They might not like the camera. I’ve noticed Some cameras like the Wildlife innovations I have now the IR Spooks them butt my more expensive Covert they won’t shy away from. Also in years past ive noticed my bait pile always seems to be more active for Yotes in Feb and March. And Fox city In January

Safe to assume that most of you shooters are on the 20 gauge fan club? I have shot 12 gauge my whole life but...
We are hunting deer not Elephants. Ditched my 12ga and went with 20ga and it’s been more than adequate for deer

H&R Ultra Slug Hunter. 20Ga. With a Leupold VX II 2-7. 2 3/4” Winchester Partition Gold slugs. I’ve been hunting with this shotgun for for over 15 years and it’s been Deadly. I would also recommend the bolt actions.

Bait piles been slow so far so we set the call on the edge of my back patio last night and called in 2 red fox within 10 mins. Folded the 1 on the edge of my lawn and other in the Alfalfa field. Nice double to kick off our season.

arrow on deer depicts angle it traveled through deer on a hard quartering away Shot. It exited out of the front of the deers chest as 2nd pic shows and travelled another 30ft. 20yd Shot standard 100gr Muzzy, Easton FMJ shaft with 2” blazer vanes 60lb draw weight and 31” draw length on bow. I’ve been shooting this combination for about 10yrs now and I honestly don’t think there is a better combination. I also find the Muzzys like 2” blazer vanes as the longer 4” put to much spin on them and cause them to shoot left , kind of like a curve ball.

Bow hunters nightmare...last night 530 Shoulder shot a nice buck at 12 yards.. pulled back he stopped I put it right on his heart and let it loose.. snap!... shoulder bone.. he walks out 50 yards shakes arrow pops out and stops looks around and starts eating.. 5 minutes pass sees a doe and starts chasing her with a slight limp, he stops keeps eating 630 he’s walking around the field like nothing happend.. clueless I was in the tree.. found the arrow later that night.. arrow went it 2 inches, Broadhead looked like it hit a steel wall ,looked for him but no vital shot... sucks! Big time
Dirt on the broadhead is From me using it as a marker but tips from the deer... fixed broadheads here I come ( rage broadhead in picture) I shoot 70lbs pull back
Easton Full metal jacket and a standard muzzy 100 will eliminate this issue also.

I have been cutting the clover every two weeks. Keeping it about 6 inches high. I plan to stop cutting it at some point but am not sure when to?

Fish the marks you see on the fish finder. Now that August is here, temp means nothing to mature kings. Lots of kings will be found in bath water at this time of the year.
