The biggest difference I have found was going from the round cannonball weights to the torpedo style. Less resistance in the water and true depth and line tracking.

Same out of IBay. Had a couple hours before family cook out so trolled the 80 to 140ish range NE of the bay. Marked a good share of fish, had a couple chase the lines, but no takers. A nice day anyway before the weather turned.

Parts from the 2 Mag 10s I just retired: 2 motor units that work fine; 2 swivel bases; 1 boom assembly is OK but the cable spool is cracked; 1 spare rod holder with clamp; 1 mounting block that attaches to swivel base. Electrical connectors on motors are the new style, same style as my new Mag 10 STXs came with. Not sure on exact age but can get the S/N of the one unit if that helps anyone. $50 OBO for everything. Located in Webster and will not ship, local pickup only.

I can attest to this report. Had the same results on Sun the 23rd. The Thurs before it was very hot in that area.

Decided to enjoy the weather for an afternoon troll. Fished from 3:30 to 7:00 N of Hedges out of IBay in the 400 to 500 fow area. Best day in a long time with 4 very nice kings all on yellow or white flies with spin doctors. 3 of them in 420, one in 460, all down 125'. 17, and 2 at 19 lbs. The 4th made it next to the boat after 15 minutes of running but I couldn't net him. I believe it would have been the biggest king I would have ever caught. He broke my 30# P-line but I got a very good look at him. Took over 400' of line out and jumped about 4' above the water at one point. Even though I didn't get him in the boat the fight was well worth it. Didn't expect much at that time of day, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Glad you made it up here.

Based on reports from Sat thought I would head to deeper water N of Hedges on Sun morning.  After all, the NOAA wave forecast was 1' or less.  Ha! Once I got out there it was a 1-2' chop with the occasional roller underneath.  Note the horizon in the picture.  Set up about 250' and worked my way out to 450'.  I found one heck of a hole in the 380-390' area that drops 70' in very short order.  Marked a lot of fish and lost 2 before landing this 24 lb guy.  FF combo with a silver/maroon flasher followed by yellow/white UV glow fly 95 over 420 fow.  The reel screamed and I pulled the DR up and just let the wind take the boat NE.  The wind/boat cooperated well and the GoPro captured the rest. Solo fishing can be relaxing and exciting all at the same time. I stocked the freezer the week before so I took great pleasure in watching this one revive next to the boat and take a deep dive home.  I guess my query last week on fishing N of Hedges paid off!

Nicely done!  Between this report and the IBay report from A-Lure, looks like I'm heading deep in the morning.

Would break my heart to catch walleye and not be able to eat them.

Thanks very much for the additional info on the super baits. I think I'll order some and give them a try. We probably have 10 cans of tuna hidden in the back of the cupboard we'll never use.

Sounds like our morning at Braddock's. Exciting but a little frustrating. Came home with a nice one in the box so all's good.

Fished out front of Braddock's in mainly 150 to 220 fow. Started late around 8:15. Got a spoon and a FF on the DRs and 3 minutes later the spoon fires, hit and run. Bringing that back in and the FF fires, with the real screaming like I haven't seen years. My stepson grabs the rod and the fish is peeling off line like crazy. It slows and he starts to slowly coax it in and it runs again then nothing. It ripped the fixed end of the swivel apart at the fly. We were 65' and 70' down as temp was just about 70'. Marked a lot of fish this morning had many hit and runs. Lost an entire FF combo on one. NBK spoon and yellow flies did well. Landed a nice 17lb king that we kept. Later AM hits came about 90' down and the active depth was 180-190 fow. Quit about 11:30. His first time out so all the action made for a great day. Footnote: I'm cleaning the fish and prepare to fillet the 2nd side. I resharpen the fillet knife and drop it point down of course. It hits the inside of my big toe and leaves a 3/4" cut like a scalpel would. A little gauze and electrical tape and I finish the job.

Thanks guys, I did look at the depth map of the lake around there and see the bottom has a greater slope than closer to the bay.  I have been going towards Braddock's some times this year with better luck. Just wondering how the E end towards Hedges would compare.

I ran into a fellow fisherman at Mayers Marina who said he has much better luck fishing the IBay area when he heads N or NE of Hedges. He said he doesn't drop a line until he gets just NE of Hedges. Does anyone else have this same experience?
