  1. I'll be roughing the cold out. I don't have an auger but I got sharp chisel I was going to use lol. Ice should be good after today's deep freeze. I'm ready for some fish tho.
  2. Had to make a emergency trip to the mechanic for a piece of equipment and a rush job. Still stuck here thawing my chipper out. I'm hoping early Monday morning. Should be thick by then
  3. Any safe ice down there? Might try this afternoon or tomorrow.

  6. Looks like it's going to freeze again... maybe...
  7. Anywhere deep enough to get out with a canoe? Was hoping to launch at mud locks or Union Springs. Might wait for the ice this weekend... if it freezes.
  8. Tried to get out in the canoe on north end. To shallow to get out. Mud local had then layer of ice over it but wasn't taking a chance... Went to Sheldrake since the perch fishing was out.... spent 3 hours around Sheldrake north and a bit south. Nada.
  9. So only way is to have the right charger with a light. Figures next I'll need the battery too. When I turn it on the light goes from red to green. That it just priming up or sign of weak battery?
  10. I got couple nice hits out there two weeks and brought in a 6lbs in the canoe. Dark orange meat. Sheldrake had barges on shore or I'd say launch there if you know where the post are submerged. Deans is low. Launch might be clear. I can let you know tomorrow. I was going to float around with the camera before dark tomorrow
  11. Anyone ever used them before? Trying figure out how to tell that it is charger. I had to find a make shift 12v charger but no idea if it is charging. Thanks for any info. Mike Aqua-Vu quad... stupid auto correct
  12. From what Les said and my own observations from a summer of being on both lakes as much as I could all summer... The fish in Seneca are DEEP. I didn't mark much unless it was out over 250 ft and didn't mark fish under 180 ft. Now if you want pike... they are every where. The two salmon I caught on Seneca this year where 70ft down over 250fow and 100ft down over 250fow. Lakers that I caught jigging, they were on the edge of drop off from 70 to 180 fow. With the population of mussels in close the fish have to move deeper to find food, this leads to reduction in light, less plankton for smaller species to eat, less bait fish, less predators. Cayuga has much less zebras. Maybe less Quaga mussels also. Haven't don't much research on them. Seems everyone wants to blame the invasion of invasive species but very few people take the spread of weed or mussels or fish disease serious... Many people load up after catching nothing in Seneca and pack up head to Cayuga. How many take proper steps to insure that the boat is clean before launching... I do. Car wash, soap, high pressure washer... $4 to save the future of two fishery that I love. Some boats don't fit in the car wash... but you bought a boat... can't tell me you can't afford to wash it at home...
  13. Trying to find a 12v charger without having to wait to long. Tuesday morning looks nice for a canoe. 3 mph at 8 am.... I'll be on the water by crack of dawn. Hoping for warmer weather like today to finish my fiber glass job
  14. Seems to be the deal. Spend all day there to catch couple fish. I hope this wind dies down soon. I got a aqua-vu I wanna try out.
  15. Been driving by last few days. I haven't seen anyone fishing their. Lots info going around but seen very few fish. Going try Watkins with the canoe Sunday. Good Luck.
  16. Boat a aluminum canoe to keep me occupied on days that were like yesterday. Not flat but not white caps either. Picked up nice 6lbs laker trolling with Minn Kota and 7 colors. Was going to try the ice but with it being 39 today and 45 tomorrow.... I'll keep my feet on solid ground or in the boat
  17. Need a heated garage to finish. Weather turned bad in January. Looks like it's warming up but 40° is still not warm enough to do the fiber glass. Might get into a heated garage end of February. Maybr sooner. Just moved in our new house. Been very busy with water system, wood stove, and emergency calls. Lots up rooted trees here when we had that 40mph wind. Hope to have it fix soon and post more pics. I almost rather do boat repair rather then tree work some days lol
  18. Nice catch. Makes me wanna skip work
  19. Awesome thanks for the info. I been wanting to have perch dinner in the new house
  20. Drove by Deer head today. Looked like there might of been some tracks on the ice. Anyone tried fishing it yet?
