  1. That's what I'll do! Thank you! Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Thanks. I actually have the boat in the water already. I'm trying to get some info on where to fish with an 8 year old tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Anyone know my best bet for launching out of Little Sodus Bay? We left here this morning and ran down to the mouth of the Oswego River. Fished for a few hours with no joy. I want to take my grandson out in the a.m. but I'm not sure where to head to. Salmon would be nice but any fish will do for an 8 year old. Thanks! 4. Giving it one more try this weekend out of Little Sodus Bay area. Never fished this area but, it'll be better than working. Opening Day Archery this weekend down here in Pa. so we'll try again next year... shoot straight this season everybody and stay safe. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Congrats! Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I kinda figured that was going to be required... thanks for the info. I've got a friend of a friend that is a machinist, hopefully he'll help me out. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Stripped Lower Unit (Upper) Drain Plug I've been noticing residual oil on the lower unit of my 1987 Evinrude 225hp outboard. I unscrewed the upper plug to replace the Teflon seal and found that the threads are stripped out. (Explains the leaking oil, huh?) I'm supposed to be pulling the boat up there next week and figure that I need to fix this before then. Any idea how to repair this? Is there a temp fix to get me by for next week? I've done a Google search and have found a bunch of articles but, I figured that I'd reach out to all of you because this site has been very helpful in the past. Thanks in advance! HELP!
  8. Where are you located? Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. That's awesome. Truly. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Thanks for all the help fellas (and ladies, if any...). We only got out one abbreviated afternoon and managed to land one shorty. (More by accident than anything else...) Getting my fishing buddies out of bed early after a night of drinking was an effort in futility. Who knew? Anyway, I'll be back up in 5 weeks heading out of Little Sodus Bay to give it another shot. (With different fishing partners) Good luck out there all and stay safe.
  11. Any info/help for this complete Lako O ignoramus would be much appreciated...
  12. Looks like Little Sodus Bay it is. The included dock and shorter trip up from SE Pa sealed the deal.
  13. Thanks for the help! Now the wife is talking about Sterling, NY with an included dock on Little Sodus Bay. Better than Sacketts or Herderson?
  14. Hey all, The wife wants to take a long weekend up in Sacketts Harbor in mid-September. Is it worth fishing out of there or should I put in somewhere else? I'd like to try and hit some kings and/or steelhead. Any info is MUCH appreciated... Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I'll keep that in mind... finally getting out on the lake tomorrow, I hope. Heading out of Sodus Bay... Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Good luck out there! Hopefully I'm hitting the lake out of Sodus Bay tomorrow for my first ever trip on my own boat. Tight lines, buddy! Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Let's hope so! Now I've got about 400 spoons, 100 flashers, all sorts of releases, 75 J-Plugs and other stuff. I may not catch anything but it won't be for a lack of equipment, I guess. I'm not picky, salmon, steelhead, walleye....it's all good to me. I'll just be glad not to be working.
  18. I picked up some stuff for $500. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I've been working that system for almost 30 years. Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Thanks for the planer board plans. Carpentry I can do, catching fish with them? Wellllllll........... Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I guess, on another note, should I be considering planers or just worrying about the downriggers, for now? I may have a buddy fishing with me and two downriggers, possibly stacked with 4 rods. Maybe just flatline for now? Sent from my SM-G935P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. AnglingAddict, I'll give that a shot. However, I live outside of Philly and work for the godforsaken Post Office so, finding the time will be an issue. I'm thinking that maybe when I get up to Sodus Bay next month I'll charter a trip with someone. A few buddies and myself chartered a trip out of Pulaski a few years ago but the captain was a miserable son of a **** and made the trip miserable. I guess that it's worth giving it another try. 23. I ran by our 'local' Gander Mountain today to check out the 'going out of business' sale. I ended up buying some boat trailer upgrades. That's it. Apparently, my definition of sale and theirs.... uh, very different. I was going to buy a couple extra downrigger rod and reel combos but I found them cheaper on eBay.
