My dad and I set out of Sodus at 530pm and began fishing at 6PM. Sat down in 180 and trolled north marking fish and bait. Hit 240fow and screen lit up. We were running a meat program with 2 dipsys and 2 riggers. All four rods fired at the same time. We managed to boat all 4!!! All 4 were 18-22lbs. Turned around and hit the same spot over and over. From 645-8:15 we had 20 bites in total. We dropped 14 fish after landing those four. It was frustrating! Ended up doubling at 8:10pm as I was filleting and had our limit. Riggers down 99 and 110 standard size dipsy’s on a 1 setting back 305 on each side. Sunday AM we only had until 730am motored out to 100 and sat down there. It was a little slower but we went 2/3 on a 24lb king and a 21lb king. All meat bite. The 24lb king came in 65 degree water as I was dropping back the dipsy down around 50 feet. The other king came on a rigger down 95. All meat spread again. Went home with around 95lbs of filets. not bad for under 5 hours of fishing. Most hits came on dragon slayer flasher with a stud attomik meat rig. Ended up running that on 2 of my 4 rods.

It seems like the fishing is good everywhere so everyone decides to go hush hush on reports. It’s frustrating because the only way this great fishery continues is by getting more and more people involved. Started at 5:30am in 80 fow. Bait scattered with fish. Started with riggers and dipsy divers. No hits. 7:00 first hit in 140 fow on a mag dipsey out 167 approx. 75-80 feet down. Flasher w attomick stud. Next hit came at 10:00 on a green jeans flasher and meat in 150fow. First fish landed at 11:00am on a rigger with a dragon slayer flasher w stud meat rig. 11:10 another. 11:20 another. All the same flasher. All three fish were over 18lbs. One was 23lbs. All three were in 170-180 fow and 81 feet down. Meat is the ticket right now. I hope this helps just one person because no one wants to give any info. It’s very disappointing.

Brighter colors but really anything with just a little color. It doesn’t have to be neon or anything... My bread and butter spoon is a black wiggle. You can catch anything that swims on that spoon. Meat may work but I wouldn’t bother if your goal is to catch steelhead. Speed somewhat matters. Anywhere from 2.4-3.0 for me. Temp doesn’t matter much as they stay in the upper 30% of the water column. Fish deeper water for them. 200fow or more. Fish anywhere from 30 to 75 down for steelhead.

I can give you the exact spoons. Standard size black wiggle stinger and standard size blue dolphin. Speed on top was 2.6 below was 2.4.

All was quiet on the radio with everyone gearing up for the Pro Am this weekend. I’m sure they were all bummed to find temp down well over 120. Decided to screw the Kings and just run some steelhead lines. From 200-250 fow down 45-85 you can smash steelhead all day long. We had hit after hit. Probably 15-20 hits within an hour. A lot of fun having a 30 inch steelhead jumping a few feet out of the water!
