A good day on the lake with Pete Statton and Adam Powell. We caught 14 and kept 9. Nothing at first in clear water but we made a move and found them and it was hot. A couple doubles and a triple in the mix. All spoons off boards in 6-8 fow. Colored water was where it was happening.
Water started out pretty calm but the wind picked up so we pulled and had a slow bumpy ride back to launch.
Was beginning to think my new motor was a jinx as I haven’t been hitting the browns well this spring. Finally after an unsuccessful start out of Stony Creek we made a long move and hit a fish. Once we found them it was a fish each pass in a quarter mile stretch of water.
Ended up with 9 browns, 4 bass, 2 walleyes and a pike. All caught shallow on various colored spoons.
Back at Mexico and can’t find anything. Tried from 6-55 feet. Could not find any fish or any colored water, Ran from A frame to Catfish and high rocks. Then to Selkirk and nothing. Marked only a few pods of bsit
abpit to pull the plug!
Generally run the 75-120’ back. Small spit shot fishing shallow. Bigger split shot, snap weights, 2 color lead coreand riggers when fishing deeper(15’+)
