There were issues with the Smart-Troll, and the few people who have them have mixed reviews. Personally, I'm waiting on that unit to become as reliable as it's competition. I think the concept is great. Another issue with the Smart-Troll is tourneys with no Comm. One Smart-Troll boat was told NO when asked if they could run a tablet in a Canadian event last Summer.

Went up north this weekend chasing eyes! We got into them pretty decent. I hit my personal best on Saturday morning, and then topped it Saturday night. On the left was a 30" 11.5lb beast, and on the right was a 29.5" 12lb brute. Great time, good fishing, and some good friends! Even a few from LOU! My buddy Casey also took a nice one

Had the opportunity to join a few friends on a trip to Key West. They go every year, and they asked if I was interested, so I said what the heck! I've never been there, but what a great place! Foods great, weather is great, and life is so laid back there. Anyway we went on a charter for two days. They had fished with this guys for years, so they knew there would be no shortage of fish. Day 1 we stayed on top of the reefs and fished for Yellow Tail Snapper, but we caught Blue Runners, Cero Mackerel, Bull Sharks, Ramoras, tons of Bonita, and a few other species I might have forgotten. We got our limit of Yellow Tail, and I got so pissed at the sharks for eating our fish when we hooked them I hooked into a few of them on shark gear. We fished with Dale Bittner of Bait Stealer charters. Guys been doing it since he was a kid with his father. He knows the area well! Our Yellow Tail Some Cero Mackerel and maybe a Blue Runner My 6'/200lb Bull Shark Day two was a little calmer, so we went offshore and chased some Pelagics. Old Rule read - Must be of at least 16 years of age on or before May 10th 2014. Rule now reads - Anyone under 16yrs old must be accompanied by a parent. We had a father who wanted his 14yr old son to fish the event with him, and it only made sense to allow this.
