Seneca ? to go or not….8/11/2011 Up before 6am made the coffee and checked the news out……..wind out of the west 5 to 10 going up to 15mph…………jumped in car went down to lake didn’t look bad at all……back up uncovered boat , Hoot showed up so off we went. Three lines in the water by 7:15am…………..pick up two laker off the rigger at 62’ down boxed them………..wind started building and changed to the wnw……….picked up a 16†bow put it back down 45’………..banged a 3.2# salmon 21.5†down 45’ on the turn boxed him……………pick up a 23†(4.5#) laker in the same area down 67’ boxed him………….had three or four misses…………then thing just shut down…………changed game plan had lots of bait and a few marks but couldn’t get them to fire…………..next change troll back to port and work Lodi Point…………..picked up a 6†laker over there and called it a day……..1ish…………… Good choice TO GO...... .........

..........till Seneca says "You be fishing today" , no more catch'n...... ............. ........this lake keeps me head from getting to BIG !!!!! ......but thanks !!!!

Good for you.... ......I got up a bit late made the coffee , got the ice in the cooler put every thing in the boat.........took a look south and didn't like it......came back inside hit the radar up on the puter..........went out and cover boat........haven't had the cover on in two weeks but it looked like a ll day rain on the way.......I guess I could of made it out for a few hours ......Oh well glade you got into them.......40' to 65' been good for awhile now for the LL and bows.............

Mine seem to stay good........then I'll have a day where I'll be tweaking them some........I think the sun/wear get to them a bit.........I have the ones on the riggers set for spoons.............sounds dumb but when I run flasher/flies I add one more that is set for that..........I know two blacks on one rigger!!!!!! hey it works for me....

Solo on Seneca 8/8/2011 Heading down before 7am and was set-up with two rods in the water by 7:15 am………….went across to the west side set up in deep water…………..on the ride over everything was flat with LOTS of shinny water all over………did see a opening way up the lake near Long Point so…………..by 8:00 am I had landed and release 9….. all weeds………looked a bit better in some so I worked in ………….8:30 am boxed one 23†laker and release a 18†and 2 weeds…………….worked north……..picked up a 18.75†landlock in the box……………picked up one more small laker back in the lake……………….looking a bit nasty hooked up with 2 more weed fish so I motored some across too Lodi…………put in deep ………….worked point area and just north a bit………couple weed fish , one small laker and a small brown………….that was it for the day…………….all rigger….all spoons long leads………fished anywhere from 598’ into 70ish west side…..found less weeds and bait in that depth…………north wind now hard to say where the weeds will be BUT it should open up the deep water first…..

WTG good report..............I was up that way a few days ago and a few days before that , weeds were a killer........I stopped about where you started the last time I was up there , just as the the contors come out from Dresden.......nice job !!!!

Thanks for the report.......hind sight.......but it pays too check for nicks in your line, take a second or two to file hooks , nothing going on a line after 20 minutes or so just check it because.......I loose and still loose fish or tackle because I didn't check stuff as I should.........

Seneca 8/6/2011 Carol , Stan , Kinger and I went out for a bit today.................went 2 for 3 one 19" landlock and 17" rainbow.....got a bit lumpy and wind seemed to pick up so I called it................as it was it didn't get any worst BUT I'll alway side on the safe side and stay with what my gut tells me...............First rip was 41' down in the HOT soup (69* on the x4).......then we picked up the bow down 55'.........later the 65' rigger fired with the 19" landlock......all spoons , all riggers........

Shipwreckworld thanks for the info , here what was going on today and what I did to correct it : While fishing today back into the waves we were getting false reading .......5'......9'....tried turning it off and back on ...............still had the problem ......long story short........clicked on "Noise Filter".......decreased the reading (lower number) bamb it came right back with out shutting down..................later same problem only reading that we were in 9 feet of water............clicked on "Noise Filter".......lower it some more and imediatly (sp) it was working right.......

Thanks Mike sorry your day is going to be BAD !!!! No browns , no landlocks , no bows......thanks for the lakers we did 4.....and two hi hits without a hook up...............the lakers are from 63' down looks like lots of them around 84' at or near the bottom.................just north of Long Point in 30 feet of water and half way to the stacks in Dresden Bay is a LOG about 4" around and 8 to 10 feet long !!!!!!!! Lots of weeds north of long point and above the Dresden Bay.............. we picked up a laker I should have taken a picture of.........had a 22" laker head and about 8" of a 22" laker body , then it went right down to a 10" laker tail.......look funny........should have killed It I guess don't want that thing breading more like it............we went back to fishing today good Ole Seneca wake-up call... ...been here before........
