  2. Pretty big rollers out on the lake all weekend...tough going for a small boat but we managed to get out a couple of hours Saturday morning and caught a nice big King. Our scale showed over 20 pounds...but not being sure how much...we took it to the weigh station at Abe's and had him weigh it. It was 22 lbs. 11 oz....just shy of the last spot on the LOC board...it might have made it the day before...but the fish are getting bigger every day! We landed this in about 115 FOW, down 60 feet...a mile or so east of the Sodus chute. Sunday the waves were just as bad and we only lasted a couple of hours again...(storm rolled in too)...but managed to catch another smaller king and a nice steelhead....both in 113 FOW a little east of Sodus Bay.Also lost one. Seems the rougher the water...the better the fishing...heard lots of great reports on the radio both days...the fish were biting! A&M
  3. Decided to skip the browns today and went straight out to 100FOW and found a few between 120 and 140FOW. Deep, 80 -90 down. Managed 3 for 4 this morning. Well, not sure if I can count that last 1 lb 'er on that big mag alewife spoon... (60down) he must have been hungry! One 18 lb the other 19lb, close but, no derby fish. Looked around for a few hours but, they disappeared.
  4. I should have mentioned that this was one of the SMOKED filets...not fresh. It was spiced with some lemon pepper spice and glazed with maple syrup too...before smoking! Tastes as good as it looks! Mikell
  5. We fished a couple of hours this morning and the Browns seemed to be plentiful in about 40 - 50 FOW east of the Point. Managed to land 3 of 4 in less than 2 hours...all around 6 - 8 pounds....a good morning for us! Nice way to spend part of Father's Day! These are going to fill up the smoker tomorrow... A & M
  6. .... well, you know it happens every year, somebody catches a nice fish... and doesn't have a ticket! This time it was us. We usually are but, had an engine rebuild and boat problems every weekend since April .We didnt think we would get much time in... and we havent but, this one just happened across our downrigger this AM. Darn!!! We feel like kicking ourselves!
  7. Fishing out from Sodus Bay today...got started around 8 a.m. and caught a nice steelie in about 100 FOW a little east of the bluffs....seems there were a lot of them around today from the chatter on the radio...everyone was having luck fishing the top water. Headed out to deeper water when this big king hit the rigger line 40 feet down...out of nowhere! ...around the 140 foot mark. Green spoon. We didn't have a scale with us...but it sure felt like it was in the 20 something range! Great day on the water! Mikell (A&M)

  13. Glen, I installed the AP14 two seasons ago, great unit. Like Tim, I needed to replace the steering cable (I have an older trophy). Just a pain, not really that difficult. Got it from planetgps.net approx $1200. Recommended and the extra 200 bucks for the remote (the difference between the AP12/AP14) was worth it to me... and not just because it gives you the heading in a digital readout... the coiled cord allows you to mount the remote a few feet away on a crowded dash.
