  10. On Champlain we use 3x set up We attach a release 3' above the ball, either a silver/blue or silver/green U20 flatfish with a 3' lead to the blades (bells), blades 3' behind the release. This works great for us once the water warms up and the lakers are huggin bottom. Brian
  11. Looking for either an online source for LJ needlefish other than Cabela's or Bass Pro or someone that has some in the 2" size. Thanks Brian
  12. Check out CascadeGPS for prices on Navionics CF for your Raymarine unit. It's the best price I've found. Ordered one for my plotter over the weekend. http://www.cascadegps.com/store/navioni ... times.html Brian.
  13. Thanks guys, Went with the Raymarine 600. Although they are discontinued it comes with the full 2 year warranty. The price was to hard to pass up. Bethel marine in Fla has bought most of the discontinued models and are offering them for $325.95. Check them out http://www.bethel-marine.com/html/specials.html
  14. Getting ready to purchase a new F/F. My Sitex is ready for retirement. Looking at the Raymarine ds600x, Anybody use these, looking for feedback good/bad on the unit before I pull the pin and make the purchase. Thanks, Brian
  15. My take on the proposal is this. We spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every yr on boat equipment upgrades, rods & reels and tackle. A $30 increase in my non resident license is a small price to pay for the things I love to do. Do I like the proposed increase, NO !! But I'm going to pay it and complain the same as I did when dock gas was $4.50 a gallon.. But the sound of a screaming drag from the first king of the season seems to make the little extra we have to pay worth it. Brian
  16. Most marinas have gas without ethonal. Pay a little more, but no worries Brian
  17. I just bought a Simrad AP14R for my boat. Haven't installed it yet, but have heard to many GOOD things about the Simrads to consider any other brand. Good luck in your quest, Brian

Like Tim said, the West Marine caranuba paste works great. seems to last longer than the liquid wax. Brian
