I'm building a board also. I got a 4'x2' half inch sheet from grainger for $100. We have a metal railing that I clamp the board to across the corners with sliding squeeze clamps. I'm going to hole saw some 2in drain holes in the back corners and put some wedges underneith to tilt it back. when I'm done I'll post a pic if I can figure out how to.
Be careful with the size of your drain holes so that items like your knife, or pliers, or whatever don't go through.

I was just a touch west of you guys Sat. straight off P'Ville. Took out a long time friend and his son and two of his grand sons. My son helped me work the boat (confusing I know). Fished 7:30- 2:30. Landed 13 and missed a few more. Most were 6-8# steelhead, a couple 6# lakers, and a 15# king. 5 color was hot with a blue/silver Stinger, riggers fired at 20-40 w/purple glow & Stinger NBK. Top lines with red GP & red Jr. Thunderstick, and yellow/silver Stinger worked well.
Best depth was straight out in 200-220 FOW. Fog got worse as the day progressed and as we returned to port at 3:00 via GPS, I couldn't see the midchannel bouy until it was about 200 ft. away and shore was nowhere in sight.
This was a trip that had been planned for several weeks with people traveling distances. There were plenty of weather of weather worries earlier in the week. Amazingly, the lake was flat, and the weather was nice, and the fish cooperated.

Watched the 2 hatchery trucks stock what they said were about 20,000 rainbows at P'Ville today. They were about 10" long and well fed. Video added:

I'm not where I can look at mine now and it's been 3 years since I put mine on, but I believe that after all is in place, you are supposed to drill a hole through the horizontal bar and the collar on each side. Tony supplied a pin with a spring loaded ball at the end to insert in there. I think it was about 1/4". Maybe they were just for the uprights as you state. Mine have never moved. Probably best to just give Tony a call.

I think if you go into your edit option, you will have an option to mark it as "sold".

Non residents can get a day pass for $5 from the town hall, at least that has been true for the last few years.

Coupled with an Airmar through hull transducer it is very good. I have been using them for about 7 yr. on 2 different boats with no problems. Although I use split screen most times, 50 hz almost always gives me a better picture. I don't play much with the settings except for gain a little.

Thanks!

Got the link. I can't find them.

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds good. Next I need to find the best deal. Best I see so far is about $2430 from Anchor Express for the EV-200 with the hydraulic pump (T70157).

Thinking about installing a Rayumarine EV-200 autopilot on my 27' Amberjack with twin Mercruiser V-6's. Will also be converting to hydraulic steering. Does anyone have experience with these units and how well they work for trolling and any other issues?

Don't quite understand the rules for the salmon showdown. ie. electing not to weigh in fish on day 1. How does this work?

I run clippers for flatlines and Scotty power grips for coppers and cores.

I agree twin screws make it a lot easier we are used to bringing the boat to dock with a running tide and blowing winds, and sometimes it can be quite comical .
Agree with twin screws, and counter rotating inboards are best for docking.

"Well much to my surprise the gun did not fire , I knew I set the safety off, but checked it again, it was off . After squeezing the trigger two more times and opening and closing the bolt with no results, I raised the gun up to eject the shell and it fired without me touching the trigger "
Had the same thing happen last year with my Sako .243. Took the bolt apart and solvent cleaned it. The professional advice I received, was to be very sparing with any lube in the bolt. Some said no lube, some said use G96 lightly, add others said use Molly Lube on firing pin.
After cleaning the bolt, I put a very light coat of G96 on the firing pin and reassembled. All has worked well since. G96 is supposed to have very good cold weather properties.

Don't want to do the tire thing just yet.
Someone has to be the smart ass here...may as well be me.
Save the $600 you will drop on new tires, park your truck at the bottom, and give someone $10 for a lift to the top.....
Above is definitely an option under consideration.
For this weekend, I'm thinking about dropping rear tire pressure from 80 to 50 and front from 50 to 40, plus add 400-500 lb. in tube sand over the rear axle.

Not trying to be a smart alec but were you in low gear?
It is an automatic but in the lowest gear as speed was fairly slow. I did not have it in low range and don't think that would have helped.

Get a 4x4 if you dont have one. 2wd are useless
Sorry, I should have said that mine is a 4X4.

Since I know many here find themselves in challenging off road conditions, I thought I would ask for suggestions. One of the camps that I hunt from is steeply uphill on a winding washed out access driveway about 1/4 mile long. Last weekend I had a very difficult time making it to the top and actually needed a tow at the very top of the rise. The stones are loose and wet leaves didn't help. I am driving a 3/4 ton Chevy pickup with a cap. What bothers me is that three other vehicles made it without much problem. They included an older Mercury Mountaineer, a older Toyota pickup, and a newish Ford Escape (AWD). All their track widths are narrower and they can more easily stay out of washout ruts. It was suggested that I could try lowering my tire pressure to say 40 lb. (It is currently set to the recommended 50 lb. front and 80 lb. rear). I know chains would work but would rather not go that far. Currently my tires are 3/4 worn and not the most aggressive. I'm looking for any other ideas that would help next weekend.
Thanks.

A friend of mine got a nice tom yesterday and we want to have it for a turkey dinner at deer camp next Sunday (1 week later). He skinned the bird and is cleaning it up now. The question is: What is the best way to keep it from spoiling for the next 6 days. Is refrigeration good enough?

There is Whaler in Pultneyville with a door like that. It is the Pultneyville Fire Rescue boat. I always assumed it was modified to more easily load people from the water.
Bear Creek report 6/15

I think I may have talked to you a couple of years ago at Bear Creek launch. Was the boat when you bought it "Rebel "J"? If so, it belonged to a deceased friend of mine who purchased it new from a small time dealer on the west side of Rochester. I think it was the only one he ever sold and I believe it was Canadian made. Don't know any more than that. Hope it is working well for you. You have it looking nice!
