  1. Fishing was very slow.
  2. Fished with a friend this morning out of Hughes Marina. The place has been inundated with cormorants. Hundreds of birds in the trees, which are now completely white from their droppings. When we returned to the dock about 11:00 we noticed a couple dead cormorants in the area near the boat ramp. I noticed two men in shirts with USDA on them. They were picking up brass from 22 shells. They said that they had killed about 100 birds. I saw them take a few more as I watched. Hope they keep this up.
  3. I have saw Samson Marine in Wolcott do it several years ago.
  4. Thinking of making a 300 copper dive more like a 450 by using a Torpedo Cuda weight. Who has tried this and how well did it work? Do you know how deep it got? Where did you place the weight? How much additional line did you let out? Thanks.
  5. Proposed Deer Hunting Changes to Increase Antlerless Harvest - antlerlessfaq2026.pdf.url Some Q&A at the end of this release.
  6. I can’t seem to identify any toms in my trail cam pics or in any sightings of this group while deer hunting.
  7. I've had about 15 of these on my trail cams for several months. What are the odds they will attract some toms to the area by May 1?
  8. I talked to Jason at Big Blue today and am planning to send in my units for checkout. $25 for evaluation and estimate.
  9. I was looking for Big Blue service information for the Subtroll 900. There had been info on eBay but its not current. I wanted to get my head unit repaired. Has anyone had any recent work done by them?
  10. I just checked with someone at the yacht club and they said it is definitely a water plant issue.
  11. I have had good service from Samson Marine on several occasions.
  12. Multiple wraps are necessary because with a single wrap or just a couple, the line will slip in the release when you load the bend in your rod.
  13. I’ve been running Black’s for over 30 years and they have worked well. It takes a little experience to get the tension right for the conditions/target species, but I prefer tighter than looser. I usually use about 5 wraps.
  14. We fished out of Pultneyville from 9:00 to 1:30. Didn’t actually measure temp because I heard the water was all warm. Marked quite a few fish at 150 down over 200-300. Looked like that was the thermocline depth. Only took 2 fish, a 7# coho and a king above the same. Both came on a flasher/fly on a dipsey out 250’.
  15. and then let out another? ft. of braid to achieve added depth?
  16. So to get more depth on a 300 copper, where would you attach the Torpedo Cuda?
  17. I have just tried Blood Run tinned copper the last couple of trips on a 300. It seems very easy to use and more kink resistant. …… and it catches fish too.
  18. Never heard of this. I have twin Alpha1s. Thanks for passing along. Still have the shift bellows to change.
  19. For what it's worth, I just talked to TowBoat/US Rochester and they have a boat in Sodus Point this year.
  20. Do any local (near Rochester) tackle stores sell Clipper Releases? I know I can get them online.
  21. Thinking about launching my 14 footer into the West River from the launch south of Middlesex on 245. How far can you navigate toward the lake? ,,,, all the way? What kind of fishing is available there in the summer?
