  1. Where is that? is that before or after the ice boom?Does the river up there usually look like that? cmon whats going on , did you use photo shop or something?
  2. YT if you were to take your fiberglass boat there you would have to be carefull and do alot of weaving in and out. The times i have gone to the river the ice has been that bad or worse at least half the time. Sometimes the ice can be hard to see and sometimes you have no choice to go through it, but its worth it and makes for a more exciting trip. The first couple times i went there was no ice, then the first time i showed up and there was ice i was shocked  , after contemplating whether i should turn aroung or go for it. It can be intimidating at first but you get use to it. As far as that being normal if adam says its not he would now best. I just pick the icy days. The ramp was the nerve racking part because i dont have four wheel drive and even though my boat doesnt weight much i still dont want to be the guy that ties the ramp up for hours because he sank his van. They do have a pile of salt next to the ramp. As far as the water level i didnt see anyone have a problem with that. My boat was froze to my trailer though and after all most giving myself a hernia trying to push it off i had to pull back up and re-ice the ramp to loosen my boat from the trailor. I actually think the first picture is at the end of the stella drift but the end of artpark was the same way. The ice flow was a pain because my line kept getting caught on it. Doug
  3. Thanks Tom. Mike a fourteen footer would be good as long as you stay below the queenston bridge
  4. Sun 24th, Got out around 8;00 finished around 1;30 landed six lost at least six, all the lost fish made me sick but it was still a blast. The water condtions were great and the ice was not that bad. Cought fish with niagaras and pink egg sacks. They seemed to like the pink better. Afterwards at the fish cleaning station i seen that everyone had a good day. Seen some really nice walleye and alot of browns, steelhead, and some lakers. It also seemed that alot of people were going out to the bar. There was not many boats doing the artpark drift like normal. Lots of boats fishing Queenston. The only drifts i did were artpark and lower stella. cant wait to get back, its great to be in a boat thats not in the driveway Doug
  5. Finally got to the niagara and it was a nice day but it was a bit nipply.
  6. never mind , didnt work, will try again
  7. Here are some pics of how messed up sandy creek is. It is so jammed up that the water is flowing up onto the bank and around the dam of ice, i couldnt beleive it. It was pretty cool to see.
  8. Here are some walleye pics Kingfisher06 cought through the ice thursday and friday evening in the thousand island region near chaumont bay. He only had a camera phone and he sent me these pics, i hope the link works. http://www.viewmymessage.com/en/webnons ... message.do http://www.viewmymessage.com/en/webnons ... message.do
  9. stop lying peeps, i know that you love to talk like a jamaican, and you are always wearing yellow, green and red.
  10. lol, thats what i think about it too, watch em' grow... i know what you are saying. on a srius not kingfisher knows his stuff.
  11. i use nothing but braid to floro and never have problems, if your drag is set and you know how to fight a fish there should be no problem. I use Seaguar 30# in the summer and i used berkley vanish 20 # too, with no problem but i am going to stick with seaguar. When i fish the niagara i use 8# seaguar for my leader and i have had no fish break it, and i also use it for fishing the streams. Doug
  12. great fish jax, when did you get that ?

    I-bay

I havent been by the bay in some time and was wondering if its looking like the launch will be free of ice this weekend? calling for some nicer weather this weekend and would like to take the boat up there and get some perch. Thanks for any help Doug
  20. I also like braid until it gets cold and its windy and your line is freezing to your spool , After that happened to me i went with 10 pound p-line and have never snapped my line, and have not had to deal with line freezing on the spool either. The sensitivity of braid is nice too but with a 1oz weight mono is sensitive too.
  21. Maniac-you have the right boat, Once you guys did one or two drifts you would have it down. If you guys are getting together and your not sure about the conditions let me know, i can help. YT- If there is o ice on the river your boat would be fine, just dont go seventy. No worry about shoal either its around 180 ft deep in the middle, it gets deep fast.
  22. was not the best, maybe a foot. All fish were on ink egg sacks, they wanted nothing else. Seen a couple other boats get them with pink too.
