  1. Hermit in a couple weeks you will learn enough to be dangerous with wire setups.

One thing that has amazes me about bannas is they are shipped from around the world and you can buy them for .39 a pound. Right next to NYS apples at 1.00 a pound. Them folks must have a hell of a system.I wonder if you went to S America if apples are cheaper than Bananas?

My dog like bananas but she doesnt like apples. I wonder if a guy could make banana hard cider? It would be good for you. Ya mun..

Ill have some for everyone to try before the derby.Except me hermit and no promises of course.

  2. I will be fishing out of a red Lund with a tan top. Docking behind the 37 bar.

Ive got a feeling Fri. nite is going to be a rough one.Looking forward to meeting all you guys also.

No Promises on behalf of the Pro Am thanks for the donation..

Fishinman I would like to meet Skeinmachine also. I miss the wars.

  3. Thanks mysteryman for the Chaos picture.

Hermit its good to hear from you . Sounds good you find em we catch em..I think Chaos will be checking the board more frequently.

Splitshot nice little reply. I guess the secrete is out.

Stinger Do you need a little help writing the acceptence speech so you can get out fishing again?

  4. Justt a little rundown on what Ive been doing. I havent fished the fingerlakes since last winter. But I have been smokin the fish on LO.In years past what has been working on the big lake works on the fingerlakes also.

Dodger flies have rotted in the water for me this yr and I dont know why. Mag size spoons are already working. You guys with a slow bite may want to try some. The "bite" seems to be accuring a little later in the morn. Say 8 or 9 am its been a waste of time for me anyway to get out early.Probably some of you guys fishing the fingers can verify that.

Due to gas prices it may be a Fishstix Hermit and no Promises team.Thats still up in the air.

Ill be fishing the Pro Am out of Sodus this weekend. Team" Cowboy 37"

Im hopeing for a strong finish.I think we have the salmon figured out but it changes overnight up there.

The fish have been way way out of temp. So fish the fishfinder and leave the temp probe in the cuddy.

If anyone has a picture of Choas , email it to me.

I did a little post last winter about installing a Yamaha HT8 trolling motor. I now have over 200hrs on the motor and it has been flawless.

So practice up ,the big guns are comming down......

  5. I dont really know where to start. Last few days blended together, Steady action with the 4th being the best 45 fish on that day alone. Over 100 totol for the weekend. Decided on our setup for the Sodus Proam went out Sunday afternoon and did 8 majors in two hours. So we feel real confident about the Sodus Pro am. Got the wires smokin finally. Got the riggers smokin also.

Those big chunky brns are still around. No rainbows . Plenty of 20 lb kings.I cant believe I caught that many fish and none in the LOC derby.

Detailed info. is tight with the upcomming Pro am.

  6. Its across the street from Capt Joes. Cant miss em...... Heading west its across the street from Abes up about 100 yds.

Ive got 5 days to figure the salmon out . Starting tomorrow. I should be able to get a handle on em. Or I could just follow the No Promises boat around.

  7. We are going to be team "Cowboy 37" . Look us up . We will probaby be at the Cowboy 37 bar. [A long legged blond barmaid]Supposed to get hats, shirts dock etc. I cant remember how many shots we had to drink to get the sponsership. But it is going to happen. We got a room at Abes.

Now for the hard part. Catch a cooloer full of big salmon.Got our brn. and rainbow program down but I think im driving around the salmon.Havent broke 15lbs yet.

  8. Im starting to look for a new GPS./ chartplotter. What I want is something easy to operate. color. I want to be able to turn it on and have it show me exactly where I am on the lake without pushing a lot of buttons. One button waypoint. A boat shaped indicator.Leave a nice track.

I now have a Raychart 425c . Its just to complicated for me. Turn it on and it shows Africa have to keep pushing buttons to get back to LO.Its got a good LO map in it .It seems to be working properly but I think something newer would be easier to operate.

Ive got a Furuno GP37 that I use for a gps. waypoints etc.But it doesnt show contours and land like a chartplotter would.

I have messed with the 425 a lot . last weekend I took it back to factory settings . reset the track. time etc. . Got it working perfict. Turned it off and when I turned it on it was back to Africa. Sudan to be exact.

  9. I think the big salmon are still a little east of us. They will show sooner or later. Sat I had a couple guys from home here fishing with me they had to be off the water by 11am but I sent em home with a teenage salmon. It came on a Tuxedo. 50 down. Got a late start Sun. Caught a mixed bag. a nice atlantic and a steelie that weighed a touch over 10lbs. I didnt weigh the steelie in It was so close. It came on a optimiser.

I now have everything respooled with 30lb test.

My wire dipseys are rotting in the water.

The sea fleas are showing up.

Could not ask for a better fourth of July weekend If the big boys finally show up.

  10. Ill get some pictures this weekend.

Im bummed because they took Charlies other brn off that was caught in my boat. You cant have two fish under one name in a catagory. We will be back at it again this weekend I checked the Sodus Point webcam and it looks like we will have some color to work with. Its been one hell of a June.

17 and change will be tough to beat. But Im sure there are bigger ones out there. Ive already switched up to the 30lb test line.

  11. They havent updated the LOC leaderboard . But there is a new leader in the Brn Trout .Charlie Bouter who had the 7th place brn. Fishing on my boat Caught a biggie today fishing with Willie Fish. My cell phone was burning up.Willie Fish has the 2nd place brn now. Charlie is my weekend fishing partner.Im sure Ill have a handful of the spoons they caught it on.

Come on week 2 days down 3 to go...

  12. Billie V only advice Ive got is leave your temp probe in the cuddy and throw out the boards and go spring time brn trout fishing.Run 2 splitshot instead of one. Run a little faster say 2.7 or so sog.

No Promises we started slow Sunday. After listening on the radio we left fish to go find fish.Worked our way back but the big bite was already over. We did 7 or so rainbows and brns.I think no promises can varify the above info. Did you guys catch any lakers on top this weekend?

  13. Truth is most of the time they dont hit.I fished part of the water you are talking about this weekend the area between ginna and pville and those fish 20 ft and down would not wiggle a rod.All board and high rigger action. My advise would be [after this weekend anyway] shorten you leads run smaller snap swivels , I also switched up to 30lb test line this weekend.

My buddies picked up a slob laker off the top in that 67 degree water Sunday. I did a couple last weekend. My best advise is run stuff you know catches fish at the moment the best spoon in that area for me has been 42 second spoon or yellow and white optimisers.I have not had much of a fly bite.

Im not getting down on speed and temp units. Ive got one. I just catch most of my fish out of temp.I would say he probably has a speed problem.

Hedges to Pville is probably a all day troll.Pick a point of land and work the water off it. Stay in one area. In all directions shallow and deep.I used to troll in a straight line I dont anymore . I aim for 2.1 SOG.Also look for that mossey green stuff floating in the water . Try and fish around it and not in it. Look for humps and bumps on the bottom. If your marking a lot of bait piles ,pick another line unless its first thing in the morning.Keep changing direction. Get away from the packs of boats. Look for swallows swopping on the water. I could go on and on.

  14. Chaos, my kids a DEC officer.

In the real world now. I probably should not put this in print but....

But the state needs money. The big push is for pollution fines, emissions etc.

    They bring in the bucks.

Thats why I report on these boards. When people go fishing they need to catch fish.Or they will find something else to do. Fishing is dieing out. license sales are down. fewer people are fishing. So less and less attention is being given to fishing. Spill a little motor oil down a drain somewhere or burn a pile of junk and you will find a DEC officer, fish all summer and you will probably never see one.
