  1. PMJasper they are already out. brown face with spots. white bellies. I didn't give them as much time in the water as I probably should have. Seems like I caught a few on them but I dont remember for sure, probably if they were working good I would have ran them more.
  2. It takes a little time in life to get up to our level of fishing. I could never afford a boat till my mid 30's.[i still cant but Ive got one anyway] The timeline seems about right to me. I just dont like seeing it drop off so fast.
  3. It is interesting to me just how many ex military guys are into fishing. Up at camp all but one was in. Its something we never talk about. I was at the Titan missle silos in the midwest ,ground radio. They are full of dirt now I guess. Last yr I was out trolling with a couple guys from camp. The subject was brought up. They were both tunnel rats. The conversation lasted 5 sec..Back to fishing.
  4. Hey Skeiner did you thank Bobs Boy for that nice rainbow cocktail?
  5. How for down the Hudson or how far up do you go? I crossed it on rt 17 a month or so ago and I said I would have to fish it someday.Just majestic scenery. My boat trailers very nicely. Do you troll?
  6. Ray K Lets hear a little more about the hudson river stripers.
  7. I think you should add a "coffee shop" forum for stuff not fishing related.
  8. I know up at camp most of the guys are ex military. I was in 4 yrs. 76 to 80.
  9. 52 To old to cut the mustard but I can still lick the jar.
  10. The women I want I cant have. The women I can have I dont want. Guess my age.
  11. Diehards were a great spoon . Purple was probably the best but green or yellow had their days also. I seen some at Abes the other day so I guess people can buy them now. Im just wondering what the hot spoon is going to be this yr. I would imagine there are going to be a lot of tight lips with three LOC derbs going. We usually get the fish figured out I just cant get a good one during a derby.
  12. I need it for just the anchor.
  13. Ray I wanted to try that many times when you see the steelhead on the surface.Jump up on the bow with a spinning rod and cast ahead of the boat. Reb I used to be a real prolific poster. I used to hand out tons of info on whats working, when, where etc. I once posted a lot of good info and had 300plus hits and not a single reply.I don't really care and I am probably wineing but I use this board for entertainment purposes only now.Im not going to lie in my reports, but I'm not as specific as I used to be.Yes there is a lot of good info exchanged here and Ive met a lot of good people from this board. Even in the winter I check the board probably 3 times a day. In years past Ive even rented computer time at Macdonald's. I would go there and sit in the parking lot with my laptop . Hook up to their wireless thingy and give a report.
  14. 5th wheel. No less than 25 ton.It wont get used more than once a month. So it really doesnt need to be anything great. I just need it to pass inspection. But if the price is right Ill do the brakes ,tires etc. Ideally it would have its own pony motor.
  15. This isnt fishing related but I know I can count on you guys. Im looking for a equipment trailer. The detachable type , like you would pull behind a tractor trailer. The type you would haul a dozer or other type of heavy equipment. If you see one around NYS or nearby let me know.Used not new.Ive been looking in equipment trader mags and that already. Thanks guys and gals.
  16. Took a ride up to the big pond today. Had to pay my campsite at Hughes and did a little shopping at Abes. He just moved the shop down the street three doors. I have never seen so many lures . I checked out the new NKs. Stingers and all mfg. you can imagine.I dont need anything but I managed to drop 80 bucks like it was nothing.I guess Im a spoon junkie. Its just a guess but I would say he had 300 different NKs in there. The more you look the more you need.

  18. If anyone ever wonders why the is a statue of Long Line in front of the LOU building its because of this kind of work.
  19. Jessica Simpson just called. wondering what I was doing this weekend. She said she was cold.I think Ill go fishing instead.
  20. Slip bob Ive been checking into the ticas . I see they are half the price of the Tekotas . Which exact model do you have?I found the ss348c for 77 bucks delivered to my door.Ive been doing some reading on these and they are supposed to be great reels.
  21. Start the motor ,turn on the XM. Usually old country ,sometimes bluegrass. It just depends on who Ive got with me.60s 70s are ok also. I also listen to open road [the truckers channel] The Ron and Fez show is probably the best show on the radio.Ive got a Yankee Fan I fish with quite a bit and we listen to the ballgames.
  22. Okuma's ,Heartlands are ok but I like the Okumas better.I run mostly dodger flys off the divers. And the Okumas tip seems more sensitive. You can judge your downspeed watching the rod tip. If its pulsing you know your dodger is working right.I run wire dipseys all the time after spring top water fishing. I have downspeed and temp. but I dont need it it when the wires are out. Also I seem to catch more fish out of temp then in temp.Ive still got a couple heartlands that served well for many years. I would say it all depends on how much you fish. How much attention you pay to little details.
  23. Im thinking about picking up a couple {4 total] new linecounters for spring planerboard fishing.I made the mistake of running 12lb test last yr Im going back to 17lb this spring.I love my tekota wire setups and Ive been thinking I want Tekotas for mono also. Anyone had experence with the 300 or the 500? Its hard for me to just order one not ever really seeing one or holding one in my hand.
