  1. Richard, I'm sorry I haven't checked the board in a while. Anyways they are still for sale and if you call please leave a phone # so I can call you back. I'm pretty firm on the $50 plus shipping or we can arrange pickup in the Rochester area. Thanks, John.
  2. Got started right at first light. Not much happening off the river so trolled towards Russel in 10/20 fow. Saw a few fish roll but only hooked up with a 5# Steelhead in 80 fow, down 15 on a metallic frog SS. That was it. We made it down to Braddocks and in 110 fow their was diving ducks, comorants, merganzers & loons everywhere. There must have been 300-500 birds. I didn't mark much around them so I hope they didn't clean out a whole baitfish population..... See ya next year. John
  3. Billy, I used that Sikkens this year and it has definately held up better than anything else. The regular teak oil only seems to last a few months. John
  4. I'm there with you. I fished from 6:30-9:00 am and didn't pull anything. I heard of one 6# Brown, but didn't see much taken. We slid out to 70 fow and found 62 degree temps on the bottom. Decided to cut our losses and head to work. What channel do you monitor? I have to 22 ft. Grady, I must of trolled by you at some time. John.
  5. Way to go Rob. Are you off all week? Where did you get the cutbait from? My brother picked some up at Mitchell's on Lake ave. and it was pretty nasty looking. John
  6. BigRed, Yup, you need to send it in. I've had 3 older digitrols changed over. 2 to mag 10's and 1 to a mag 20. Screwy Louis can change it over to a mag 10 but to get to a mag 20 Cannon (Minkota now) (Johnson Outdoors) must do the work. When I had it changed to a Mag 20 in 2005 it was $250. The change to mag 10 was somewhere around $150-$175. Good Luck. John
  7. Started out late today somewhere around 7:45. Anyways, did a 24.5# king, 210 out 2.5 set mag dipsey purple dock, purple fly, in 135 fow. Ended up with 2 other smaller bows, purple frog 65 down, and white dr, purple mirage 100 down. That was it, quit around 11:30. Had the carb rebuilt this week and it still needs to be adjusted. We could only get up to around 2800 rpm and 15 mph. I'm not sure how bad the storm building off Braddock's was but being a slow boat today I really didn't want to find out. Has anyone heard so many weather reports with Waterspouts mentioned in the same sentence. I think this is the 3rd report this week alone. Good Fishing. John
  8. Hey Guys, I was out there with you, we pulled a small steely and a nice king about 25 lbs. on the bogo grip and that was it. When we were running in around 11 am we heard someone had a king out 950+ ft. on the wire!  We've had some hot fish before but as soon as they hit 700 ft. I'm slowing down the boat to a crawl... The new depth raider worked great but it seems to be .2/.3 mph slower than the fishhawk. Has anyone else noticed this? Also what lb. weight do you run with the coated cable because it doesn't seem to cut the water very well. One last thing. Mark, when you came out were you marking any fish around the bait, because my graph was clean other than the bait, might have to make another purchase. Good Fishing John
  9. Thanks for all the input guys. Sponge do you un-bolt your probe from your terminator connection after each use to remove it? I wired it a little different so I hope it works this weekend. I'll let everyone know and post if all is well. John
  10. Gambler, No I don't break down the rods I actually bungy the swivel to a rod guide to keep constant tension on the wire. Mark, good to know, I guess I won't put on the twilly until I see some guide wear. No problems in 3 years so far on those ugly sticks. John
  11. Dan, Thanks for the link but it doesn't show that the probe is removable. I walked down the dock last night and all the charters that are running them have the probe permanently attached. Is there a link to a removable probe one? John
  12. I have been reading up on the correct install of the DR and have some more questions. When using the Walker Terminator with the black's release, do you use the release to connect the probe? Do you hook the lighter gage wire to the bottom of the probe and then to the cannonball? If you do how do you run an additional release off the downrigger? Is it run below the probe? I have been running a Fishhawk unit for the past 5 years and we run a Black's release above the probe. If anyone lives in the Rochester area and has this set-up, maybe I can swing by and take some pictures for clarification. Man I feel dumb... John
  13. I have been running wire for a few years now and had to re-tie some swivels tonight. I have been running ugly sticks without twilly tips. When trying to re-tie tonight the wire kept curling up uncontrollably. Does adding the twilly tips help alleviate this curling? John
  14. Thanks guys!!! John
  15. Man I can't seem to remember how to tie these its been so long. I know Billy V had a good post once but can't seem to find it. Please help. John
  16. Mdryer, I believe I have the Cannon elite reels that mount on a rail. The boards were run off a hard top. So I don't have a mast. I only used them 2 times and they've been in my basement. I'm more of an inline planer board guy. John
  17. Rob, How's the channel depth at Braddock's? Is it still to the west side? John
  18. Rod Holders are sold. Thanks, John
  19. Pikehunter, I'm at shumway this year. Surface temp was 49-51 degrees. My Fishhawk is on the blink again. John
  20. RustyRat that wasn't you on the thruway between Victor and Canandaguia on Sunday at noon, was it?? John
  21. I am selling some older dodgers that don't seem to make it in the water much anymore. (I buy way too much for the amount I fish). Anyways, here is what I have. 22. Selling (6) 12" Stainless Steel Angler Pal Rodholders. They are currently mounted on a angled piece of teak as shown but can be removed easily. These rod holders can be swiveled 360 degrees and lock in almost any position. I just looked them up in Cabelas and they are $40/ea. I am asking $100.00 for the six of them or best offer. Please call 585-469-1923. Thanks, John.
