October 6 am Sw wind 5-15 mph 35 degrees Partly sunny Sit #6 Some days you are on the x and some days you are not. Apparently today I was not. Zero deer seen this morning. Nothing. Nada. I will say though will all the leaves on the trees I can't see sh*t unless it was on top of me. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Mission Craze all the way. Crazy amount of adjustability with both poundage and draw length. I bought one for my kid when he was ten and he is still shooting it (18 now). I would imagine he will be shooting it until he buys himself a new bow at some point. Check out the specs on it and you'll see its is exactly what you are looking for. Or stop by and I'll show it you. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Shoot does. Most of what I hunt could use a slightly thinner doe herd. Problem with not shooting them... The absolute worst case scenario... Over population stresses out the herd. The best example of this is deer populations within city limits where hunting is not permitted. The end results are an over browsed environment, not enough cover, agricultural damage, malnutrition, ect. If youre hoping to grow, see, and support numbers of big bucks they just wont deal with these living conditions. With that being said every property is different so there isnt a number that work per acre for everyone. A balanced deer herd should be as close to 1 to 1 ratio as possible however it is rarely achieved. Maybe on a heavily managed ranch in texas. Be happy if its 1 to 2. (1 buck per 2 doe). Im assuming most of us are far from the extreme but we may see some mild cases of this depending on what is happening around us. Our neighbors tend to play a major role in all of this.

October 4 pm 58 degrees Partly cloudy S wind 5 mph Deer everywhere this pm. Saw 49 deer. 3 racks. Two (I'm guessing) were two years. One was a stud. The g2 on his right side must have been 15"+. Deer were pounding beans hard. Hung a new camera on the walk in. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

October 4 am 46 degrees Partly cloudy S wind 5-10 Certainly seemed like a good morning to be in the woods. Apparently I was wrong. I got to my parking spot this morning. Shut my headlights off and pulled into the field. Got out of my truck and something was stinking. Grabbed my flashlight and someone dumped salmon carcasses in the field and I drove right through them. The stink is still on my truck btw. I got all my gear on and noticed that the field wasn't 100 percent cut yet. I didn't want to walk through and damage the soy beans so I packed up my stuff and went around the block. Long walk in. Of course the only deer I see all day is when I was walking in. Buck. On the edge of the beans. Big enough rack to see in the dark. Tough to judge. Got into the and got situated. Reached into my jacket pocket and took a thorn under the nail of my middle finger. Spent the next five minutes trying to remove it in the dark. Heard a mess of turkeys but never laid eyes on them. A fox. Squirrels. Geese. No deer from stand. Checked a camera on the way out. 3000 pictures of a thorn bush branch. Ughh Three fresh scrapes on the walk out though. The one pictured is historically always there. A very long morning.... Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

October 2 pm 55 degrees Full moon Cloudy Rain NW 5 mph becoming S 15 Thought is was going to be a great night to sit. Got in stand about 430ish. Chose to sit on the oak flat and protect the acorns from trespassers. Had a young buck come through almost immediately. Then about 5 mother nature flipped the script. Wind changed from 5 mph nw to 15 mph ssw. Because of the wind change I got out of that stand and ran over to the another stand close by. Just as I got situated the skies opened up and I sat in the rain for the next two hours. Never saw another deer for the rest of the pm except for the six flatheads I saw walking out feeding in the field next to my truck. Rain or shine... Not many places I would rather be.
