Lithium batteries will break the bank. Get a 10Ah 12V and run it in a Remington gasketed ammo box. The entire setup is ~$60 (less if you go with an 8Ah battery - I use Nermak), it's bulletproof, lasts the entire season, and should keep on keeping on season after season. And you can use the batteries during ice season to power your other stuff. Remember that lithiums do require a unique charger, and make sure that the power cord adaptor is the right size for your camera (build your own or buy cheap from Amazon).

Agreed. They do make a rechargeable battery for $49 for the Tactacam xpro. It might be worth the investment.

  2. Well I had to visit the deer woods yesterday to swap out batteries in cameras. 2 months on standard batteries so this time I made sure to put lithiums in them. The one thing I noticed was the massive amount of scrapes and rubs in the woods. I love seeing all that buck sign.

  3. Well I just got back from doing a few chores in the woods.

-I pulled a stand from a spot that I have used 1 time in 3 years.

-i hung a new set in a spot nicknamed the Matrix

-i hung a camera in the Matrix

-I cut a access trail to a stand so I can approach downwind and without spooking deer

Its gonna be a long time waiting on the sidelines for a fresh tag... Bring on the gun season!!!!

  4. Well the latest update is that the deer have been fairly active under the cover of darkness for the past 12 hours. Two days of sitting tight and they finally got moving last night. A few pictures of small bucks harassing does too.

My new number 1 did a full on catwalk photo shoot in front of one of my cameras this morning. Like a model walking the run way.

Terrible weather pattern with us. It looks like Halloween before we get some good hunting conditions and it looks like some amazing deer killing weather.
