  1. My Turn: Polls will not over-turn decisions that aren't of the committees liking, that has been proven !! It is certain excuses will follow as to why a majority decision from a poll will not become a rule !! Its been proven from past polls !! Unless comity members are now willing to favor a wider variety of participants and lose the excuses that followed last time favoring their own decisions? Tom
  2. A MAJORITY OF PRO/AM PARTICIPANTS WHO FREQUENT THIS SITE WOULD VOTE "NO COMMUNICATION" !!! I believe someone posted a poll a while ago which clearly noted a majority of anglers did not like open communication or preferred not to communicate during tourney hours It's very sad that the rule was over-turned to satisfy the more important minority who wanted it That's the way I see it ..... Tom
  3. Thanks for all the help, have looked at 8 Penn Yans so far and dealt with lots of leads, even water tested 4 so far, actually have several in mind I would consider owning if that perfect vessel doesn't show up between now and spring. But still looking........... Tom
  4. Soon to be listed on TJ's website, I just towed the boat to get winterized for the season, if there are any serious inquires and I can be of any assistance please inquire [email protected] have fished of the "Big Fin" many times, this boat will need a little TLC but with the new crate small block will certainly be a fine vessel at a reasonable price http://www.pennyanboats.com/fiberglass.htm Tom
  5. Went and looked at it today, very nice looking boat, does not look like it has been over-used, also talked to the gentleman selling it. TYVM, appreciate the lead Tom
  6. LOL Cause.............................. when you register on other forums you actually use your real info
  7. Looking to buy a Penn Yan around this size for next season, will use this boat approx. 15 to 20 times a year with family and friends. Small chance I may consider another make or comparable model, but looking to fish Lake Ontario by 2009, buyer not in a hurry to purchase. Needs to be very dependable & clean looking, a well running vessel, rigged or not rigged, no dog house. Will look at any and all opportunities, looking to spend 10 to 25k, E Mails welcome to school me even further on my potential purchase or to help us out in any way, never turn down extra help, might just own this vessel for a very long time. Presently fish from vessels ranging up to 46' so we are use to roomy vessels come tourney time but wanting to scale down economically to take the family out during the interim's, just want the roomiest quarters possible in a smaller vessel [email protected] Need a vessel to add the A-TOM-MIK name to (: Tom
  8. Please drop me an E Mail, couldn't find the member list to pm, [email protected] TYVM Tom
  9. Some very tough fishing in the Eastern Basin sure did try the nerves of a very high percentage of anglers during the 5th annual 2008 Fair Haven event. Team Striker with Eric Marcinkowski took honors with a 5 fish limit averaging just under 22 lbs. per King. Hats off to Eric and crew who stuck it out and worked mostly waters just outside the pack. Team Liquid Plumber with Del Casterline always manages to be in the top of the mix, Del and crew knows what it takes to win and they always put themselves in position, Nice Job Guys !! Impressive box with an average of 19+ lbs. per King. As Team Screamer pulled every straw out-a-the bag we had to pull we could only generate a total of 6 bites (one of which was a 9 lb. catfish on a Hammer fly), we were perfect landing each of 5 Kings that hit, but that was it, we could not upgrade and could not generate another strike, one tough event! Team Screamer was looking for the 4th win in a row but fell short to Del and Eric, Thanks Dave, Joe and Bart for another great experience on your team. A youth on the team of Ace Charters took the big fish of the event with an outstanding King weighing 31 lbs. They won a cool $1100.00 in cash and a nice plaque. Ace also captured the 1st Annual Shane Zimmerman memorial award for his team taking the largest fish from all 3 Challenges and will hold the memorial cup for 1 year. Only 3 teams took the tourney 5 fish limit, and many top dog teams of the over 70 entered left scratching their heads as the southerly winds were moving our temp's around by the hour, fishing was as tough as it gets !! Great job to each and every team who put a fish in the box. Great job to Werner Stenger who stepped back in to move the event along, thanks to everyone else who helped, look for these Eastern Basin "Challenge" events to grow each year in numbers of participants as the interest continually grows. They sure are a tremendous amount of fun and truly worth looking into for a weekend of competitive fun, we see more and more repeat participants looking forward to each event.
