Thanks Everyone
  5. last summer i picked up some wally trollin weights in ohio like those, to use the derby on seneca this year,, hook 6ft leader to lead with copper wire spoon(pfluger type) then hook trollin weight to reg pole .. let out 50 to 75' line hook into blacks release put ball 20 ft off bottom im thinking the lead and spoon will dig in like a copper rig , probly be another of rays ratnest expermints gonna try on onterio when every thing lays on bottom always learning or never learning!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. units with surface speed usually have trip log which is not nessary but sometimes is (fun) and helpful if ya need to find waypoints for emergency navagation reasons, and surface temp will show temp breaks on surface (upwellings) also last year i found out from several of the top charters the importance of 1\2 of 1 degree on the surface during spring fishing ,,major help in finding fishing areas also ,, digital data with temp graph is great feature with surface temp if your setting rigs or fighting fish and miss a warm temp. break this graph displays temp for last 20 min. and you can return on your trail to exact spot .. Before last spring I read several times about minor temp breaks I had no clue how big 1\2 degree on surface was for ....SPRING... fishing..many times it helped me find those dime size pods of fish near the surface but scatter to side as boat approaches ..sometimes its the little things in life(and fishing) that have big rewards.. to answer your question YES!!! 1\2 degree was a big deal
  11. Erin, how far did you seperate your transducers and did it take care of problem ,also was your finder eagle/lowrance.
  12. I did try the direct hookup ,no change thats why i took it one step further to a seperate power source , by the way at least for these dots there was no difference if i powerd under dash, direct to batt ,or seperate pwr.just had another flashback, if im running myfishawk deep 100 ft plus i get irratic readings,, turn off fishfinder and get perfect signal,,,both transducers on same side of boat,, will seperation of units help ,, i can live with this problem as i dont leave probe down once I figure out currents and temps for that area and time.. jst curious if anyone else has had this prob and seperated units
  13. Hank, now the site is running smooth and ya gots lots of free time maybe you can get some bugs outa my boat, i have a Eagle seachamp 1000 CDF thingy when im trolling with main motor (io) i gets these little interference dots on my screen and have to stiffen my sensitivety thus showing less fish ,,,,,troller no problem ,,,,,,, ive tried seperate battery (12v motercycle) no change,, transducer is 16ish" from outdrive, I have not rerouted transducer cable and it does run near others from moter to dash. older 87 boat with points(should i stay with points or convert)ive figured what end of a screw driver to hold so points dont bother me too much ,,,Is electronic less interference?if i do reroute how much seperation from main wire bundle? Thats All (for now) Thanks Ray K. you can throw a heating question back at me if needed.. Im shure others can help , and have a bug or two for ya.

Bill ,due to the small size of my boat i was thinking of making a custom box ,, if ya know someone in a metal shop maybe even BOCES that could be a idea to ponder ,Im on my 2nd large cooler at 70.00 bucks a pop (4 YRS)2to3hundred for a custom box might not be too bad if its gonna last there must be a website for custom boxes ..always thinking never learing... 17. thought i put a post somewhere bout that,,, so end there is a single ramp. at the marina where capt. bills boat is pretty close (200ft) east of big pier in town Watkins.. very good ramp 4.00 fee honor system kinda shallow in winter but never had prob. with my22ft with 2wheel drive van to pull it out .marina does freeze with so wind and 5 degree nights.. ive busted through 2" ice but go slow as lateral strength is dangerous to hull, gotta drive up on it and break down ya gotta be real die hard to do this. typical pearch spots west side first docks from so end to last docks before cove of salt plant..2nd wk of jan i found large bait pods 150 to195 ft over 200 ft water. might be worth your time to troll some brown ,and landlock spoons.in same area of pearch but in 35 to 80 ft water 5 to15 ft down..........bout 15 mi up west side rt 14 is servern point small wood sign is easy to miss so keep eye towards lake side of road, if ya get to rainbow cove sign ya went to far if your comming from south end turn back 1/2 milish ,double ramp on lake usually open in cold weather i always have 10lb bag of ice (duhhhhh salt)just in case you ant the first there and the guy before ya brings a little water on the ramp pulling out trailer. go straight out for 200ish feet carefully kinda shallow up that way near shore go south little way to 3/4 mile might find perch or go north bout 1\2 mi near rainbow cove water should be cold onuf to bring em into 15to 30 ft water so i hear i ant never targeted them but if ya get into sum id be willing to give it a shot.. oh mousee grubs have been brought up by a couple guys who perch fish.elbow room is a must so i hear  Ray K. 769-7947 if ya cant figure out where these launches are .
  18. checkbass pro eagle 642c with gps mapping its 599.00,,, dual freq, speed, temp its got bout ever toy a rec fisherman needs there are much better units out there but this is easy to use and does bout everything a finder can do ...i know what its like tring to decide as the salesperson reads the display card to ya that you been looking at for 5 min then says my uncles brother little brother has one and he loves it..look for in my bumbling opinion surface speed, temp, delay temp chart ..showes ya temp for last 20 min in case ya ran over a temp change and missed it (good feature to use) dual freq.200hz deeper stuff20 degreecone 50hz better coverage of lures and fish rising to bait60 to 90 degree cone,,gps ,,waas, mapping, map card slot .. with todays tech . ive never used a really expensive unit id probly spend 1200.00 on a autopiolet before id spend that much on fish unit, but i fish alone alot so i need auto piolet more... get ready for 20 diff, opinions hope i helps some Ray K.
