  1. Maybe you guys didn't see the 10th color because it's so "stealthy". 😀😀 Sorry. Had to do it! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. You won't see this from a Bay Rat Pete. Pic courtesy of the Yank. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Lead length. With slide divers you can run any length of lead you want whereas with regular divers you're limited to basically length of rod. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Depends on the usual factors--line weight, distance back and speed. Generally speaking at brown trout speeds and 100' back you're probably looking at 7-8 feet. I run mine 70-80' back when fishing 10 fow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Totally different action too. Any 31/2-4" stick is gonna look like another 31/2-4" stick bait. The balance, action, color patterns and 100% American made is what sets Bay Rats apart from the rest! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Thanks for the illustrious explanation Pap. I knew the crusader rating was based on horsepower as mine are 350's. I just had never heard of a 454 with a crusader 260 designation before. I'm always looking for better oil and my inlaws run several big farms in the southern tier and they run rotella but in all their diesels. I will find some for my 454's. Thanks again. 7. Does Shell Rotella make a straight 40? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Is it a 260 or a 454? Crusader 454's are generally 350's. I've run straight 40 weight for 31 years with never an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Paul's Planers are very compact and work great for what you're talking about. If space is really a premium and you want to run multiple board lines church inlines can't be beat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Coho. Lots of em around right now Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. For some reason the guys on the east end (Oswego-Mexico) like the long shallows for Browns. Rochester and west the short shallows seem to work better. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Just installed one. So far...... LOVE IT! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Thank god!!!! Now we can all breathe again and don't have to sell our boats. 😃 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. If you run them the same distance as your J9s or jr thundersticks in 8 fow you WILL donate some. I learned that the hard way too. 😠75' is a good distance in 8-10 fow and in 12-15 you can stretch it back to 120. If you absolutely HAVE to run them way back in shallow water use a float to keep them up higher. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  16. Because of their action Dodgers will tend to ride up without some weight. You "might" be able to run it clean but would be better off with 1oz of lead or a 1 color core. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. The ice water is going to be coming out of the Niagara whether they pull the boom or not. That's my point. Erie is full of ice and ice water. All that water is going out the Niagara. The boom doesn't stop it. Removal of the boom, while it might get rid of SOME of the ice in Erie, will NOT warm the 33 degree water between Erie and Buffalo at all. It is what it is and there is nothing any of us can do about it! There's plenty of fish to be caught in the ice water so, like I said, SHUT UP AND FISH! 😄 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. I agree with what you're saying. When that division was created several of us were against it and said it wouldn't work. It hasn't. I was just trying to explain how everything came about and the "reasoning" behind it. If some "captains" acted as such and entered the division intended for them this issue would never have occurred. Unfortunately for some it's all about "the win". 😠Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. You will want to run them shorter than you would run a Thunderstick or even a rapala. 75' is good if fishing 8 fow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Actually when the boom was pulled had little if anything to do with the early spring fishing last year. Believe it or not! They were catching numbers of kings off rochester in mid April last year. It had NOTHING to do with the ice boom and everything to do with how the lake cooled down in the fall. Rochester was the last place on the lake to cool down so that held the most kings in the spring. This year is DIFFERENT from last year. Again, believe it or not! If you do a little research you too can find out what was the last region of the lake to cool off last fall. That is the region that will hold the most salmon once the lake temp hits 42 degrees and they become active. That is all the info I'm sharing. 😄. It's tourney time boys! I'm just sick of hearing all the gloom and doom ice boom talk. SHUT UP AND FISH!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Not defending it at all but the rules were set up to allow ANYONE to fish- including captains, that may only have one day to fish. Just because someone holds a captains license doesn't mean he is any better on that day than anyone else. I believe you can only weigh 3 fish (or 5?) regardless of the number of persons on board. Boat size is irrelevant too--if it's too rough for your boat don't enter that day. If you don't like it don't fish it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. EXACTLY! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Fortunately, Tim, my old unit functions fine with the new one and I'm keeping it for navigation and waypoints. If I don't like all the fish I'm seeing but not catching I can always "run home to momma" and fish blind again. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Lakers are everywhere right now. Start in 20 fow and work out to 40. They will be there somewhere and eat anything that comes by. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
