    yamaha t-9

whats the best way to cold start my 93 t-9 yamaha 9.9 4 stroke?(no electric start) theres no choke and i have yet to figure out to cold start it other than taking the hood off and putting my thumb over the intake ted
  2. like Sliderman said they do use these center pins as down riggers, saw ii in a show out in the state of washington seemed to work very well ted
  3. thanks ray! if we get a nice day or two i'm gonna give a try ted
  4. ray, i'd be looking to fish the lower end of Cayuga fo LL's or brown's & posssibly lakers. i have downriggers, two 300' copper lines, 1/2 dz or so line counter rods and should have my 2 wire dipseys put together this week. i have a good mix of spoons, stick baits, plugs along with a mix of divers & flies etc. 2 lg church boards per side. as for the motor it would run just woudn't cold start or idle very well. hanafins in owego went through it and rebuilt the carbs and some other small items. the last time out this fall it ran great, just never had it out in the winter. that said i have no doubt the yamaha kicker ( 4stroke) would always get me home. thanks ted
  5. Hey Ray! im a green horn green as green can get. the kids got off the last full week in feb so thats what i'm shooting for the kids have off ( my oldest & 1st mate) will be tagging along) weather permittining . i have 19ft sunbird cuddy hopefully it will run (big motor 110 jonson vro, spent 800$plus on it this summer ) other wise the 9.9 yami will have to do. where is a good place t launch? last summer i ran two copper lines last summer in otsego lake. this spring projects include an 85 sea ray 230 which i/'m finally going to get into and rebuild. any how ted
  6. you guys are driving me crazy with the great fishing reports. i'm gonna have to make the trip out there. the boats loaded and ready to go just a real pain to uncover. any winter fishing advice? ted
  7. for me its finding out that i'm out not crazy i love to fish and relish anyones fish story. life is stressfull even for the best of us, i care nothing about making my limit, for me its all in the chase. maybe i am nuts?
  8. mine works great, the main engine is an outboard. like Rich D said it does make it easier to hold a course as the sterring is stiffer at least from my experience ted
  9. sounds like a bad deal, i'll have to re-think this.

    95 sea ray

I have a 95 sea ray with a 5.7 merc ( counter rotation with an alpha 1 I possibly want to part out. any ideas what I should ask? it was stuck but its free now, I think it possibly has a stuck valve. also, i'm looking at 20ft trophy that has no motor on ebay what size motor should I be looking at for that? thanks ted
  11. 9th for me hopefully everyting will be running this year.
  12. anyone recommed tying 300' of wire braid to super baid. i have two 300' spools of 30lb wire braid i want to tie to the 30lb super braid usinga 50lb spro swivil. i'm just worried what might happen if the the knot hangs up on the reel with an angrey fish on the other end. ted
  13. copper copper copper. i ran two 30# copper lines all season and it consistantly put fish in the boat. this coming year i'll try some wire dipseys. if you read the posts, even the old posts you'll get alot of good information and everyone here at this site is great with helping you with your questions.
  14. anyone fish otsego lake in cooperstown ny
  15. i've used 300' of 30# copper this year with great success for lakers and a few browns. question, to get it a little deeper could i run it off a downrigger down the chute. i had no sucess with the down riggers but honestly i had no time to monkey with them with the way the copper was producing.
  16. I am planning on adding two wire rods on a three setting off each side and one deep copper (90+ Ft or so so and one at 50 60 feet) off the back. now that i think of it mabe i'll run one copper off one rigger to get it down there deep. the fish are really boat shy so the longer the farther from the boat the better ted
  17. I ran 300' 30# of copper off two rods this summer and it was the most effective set up (didn't matter what I tied to the end of it) regardless of what ever else I put in the water. Im interested in hearing if anyone has used drop weights ahead of the copper to get down farther as opposed to adding more copper?
  18. anyone fish otsego lake? im looking for any pointers for the lake im going start fishing it for lakers and landlocks fairly regular so any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks ted
  19. im thinking about a buying a new truck, any launch sites on cayuga require 4wd? i've never launched there but im gonna ted

    Floor Rot

Dan, I haven't tried this stuff but it looks like its just the ticket bad transoms and stringers. www.seawolfindustries.com/seacast.html. I am in the process of going through an 85 sea ray 230 and I may end up using this stuff before i'm all done. Ted
