Bruce....Capt Dave from Tuna.com sold that boat to someone in the Bahamas. He is having a much bigger boat built up in Maine. By the looks of it, the new .Com will be along the lines of Hot Tuna....maybe even bigger.

Orange one is a King Eider....extremely rare for this part of the United States....the other birds are White Wing Scoters and Scaup ( Blue Bills) . Scoters and Blls are pretty common. Kings are normally found in the Bearing sea or in the upper most North Atlantic. With all the high winds we had this December, im suspecting the King got blown off course and is digging the abundance of zebra mussels. Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Like i said previously.....im not bashing Okuma at all.... I love the leadcore/copper rods...the high speed copper reels are nice also ( i dont have drag issues with the 3 i own). If anyone has worn out reels or is in need of any reel repair, i wouldnt hesitate to call the Tuna Guy. Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Vince....another captain from the oak had an identical issue i did....we sent our reels to tuna tom at same time. Hes an Okuma guy as well. Like i previously posted, after the drag fix, i really like them. If okuma fixed the issue, i wouldnt hesitate to buy some more Catalinas. Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Im very good friends with the current owner as well as the previous owner....ive seen this boat get gutted..new floation and a new floor....ive rode in this boat as well....total tank. If i wasnt putting in hardwoods in my house, this rig would be sitting in my driveway...good luck selling her Brian. Someone is going to get a great rig for a good price. Brian!.....I have a bunch of Saltist reels, in fact Ive had them since they first came out!. For the last 30 years , Ive used just about every great lakes fishing reel. Saltist (besides the counter location) is the best. The older Catalinas are very nice too, but the drags on these new models have issues. I'm pretty sure they know about the issue. If it was just a one time thing with the bad drags with the coldwaters, then I might buy just getting a bad batch of reels. But to have some catalinas have the exact same issue? Something is up... My post is not to bash Okuma.....In fact I will still use the 55L and I will probably buy a Solterra for a XXL cooper. This is more of an "Atta Boy" for Tuna Toms.
-
Roughly 30 each.... He disabled the auto engage when you wind the reel....now i have to manually engage the reel....big deal... The drags are awesome now Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I had a couple of coldwater reels and i was completely disappointed. The drag was sticky and never worked right. I contacted Okuma and they upgraded me to the catalinas ( I paid the difference ). So here i am with 200 dollar top of the line Okumas and guess what? They suck....same sticky drag. Not what you would expect out of a "top of the line"reel. In the end i sent them to Tuna Toms. Just got them back today and they dont even feel like the same reels. Extremely smooth...Tuna Toms did an outstanding job. I very well may send all of my reels to him next fall for an overhaul. Tight lines and keep thinking spring! Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Smittys are great plugs.....i run at least one everytime i go out....sun, water clarity , and wave conditions dictate lure color and lead length.... Clear bright days and i run naturals like shiner or goby patterns on longer leads (120-160 back). Cloudy, murky, or rougher water you can get away with bright colors and shorter leads. Last year it didnt matter what you put out. Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
