To attend the GCBA meeting, you do not have to be a member of the fish and game club. The Club is nice enough to allow us to hold our meetings in the upstairs conference room. See you guys Next Tuesday night.... -

Pike.....anyone whose anyone can join and attend the GCBA ....rec fisherman as well as charter guys have the same goal....better lake fishing.... I think the January meeting is mostly a CPR and First Aid class for captain renewals, but the February meeting might be the one to consider attending....GCBA members, help me out with this if m wrong.... No doubt Tim....and absolutely nothing against any of the Lotsas....you guys really do great things for the Lake.... But I doubt Monroe County and surrounding ports get discussed regularly at your meetings. My hopes are the Greater Rochester Pro and Recreational guys can get together and increase membership of an all ready great organization.... More members can make a louder voice.... Bob......I think Lotsa is more of the Wilson, Niagara and Olcott Guys....... I encourage anyone who fishes Monroe County waters, or Wayne County waters to join the G.C.B.A. You do not have to be an actual Licensed Captain...You may join as an associate member and attend the meetings. The association is growing by each year. The meetings are very informative and entertaining. A strong membership and one with a "voice" may be what is needed to finally get Monroe County on board to realize what kind of valuable resource they have neglected.....

Rick is exactly right....Good organization and a good group of guys. After the formal meeting we usually all go downstairs and shoot the breeze for a while. Great opportunity for guys to meet up and share new techniques, what worked and what didn't. A little ball busting as well.

I tried a pile of different factory rounds. I went back to the Remington Core Lokt 180 gr. I was able to get them to hold a decent accurate 3 shot group. Went out Opening day and shot a Donkey Doe.....(Let a bunch of scrub bucks go). Shoulder shot at 150 yards and she fell like a stone....The Remington 180's did a brutal job on her.....Im going to put in some major bench time this summer and figure out the best grain and type of bullet my gun likes.....Thanks guys.... -

I noticed with slightly stained water or cloudy days the SSW was right on. The pi$$ green water was more silver or brighter spoons....like previously posted....its all what you are confident with. Skipjack.....I believe you ....I will have to get some different types of the same grain bullets and give em a try. I intend on getting into reloading, but with the opening day not very far away, I'm probably going to have to try some factory ammo for this year. My intention is to get better glass for next season and get that sucker dialed in and do some long range shooting. I have access to some very long shooting area.

They will absolutely come into Goose decoys. Find a field with Geese in it....set your goose decoys out in front of you at 11:00 and 2:00....open pocket at 12:00....right next to you put out a mojo mallard....Ducks are suckers for Mojo's in fields. Sighted in the .308 today...Remington and Black Hills really flew like crap, but the Federal 168 grn hollow points were unreal. That savage is amazing. Big thanks goes out to everyone who pmed me or replied to this post..... First shot was slightly high and barely right. 2nd shot was thru the first hole( buddy watched hits thru the spot scope). 3rd shot was in the Bull. I will take that group all day long....
