  1. Tom, congrats to you and the boys on a great finish. 7 out of 60 boats and some great competition always makes it exciting good job boys Chris
  2. Well, The truth is finally starting to show its face. Andy i agree with you a chance to put them in there place would be nice. But lets face facts they with drew from the tourney to save face as best they could. I would love love to go toe to toe with them.. but the fact is that if they are guilty of cheating they should not be allowed to fish in our tourneys. they will definately do it here. cheating is cheating..plain and simple..leave em in michigan and deal with it there. if by chance that they somehow make their way to our lake well lets just say i will not be fishing anymore tourneys at that point in time..not because i am not good enough to compete but because we have just enharreted someone else junk. its not fair to the field. i have a hard enough time getting through the open communication rule in our events.. phone calls to help the win along....na no thanks ....this would just put me over the edge. chris
  3. I couldn't agree more with you bob. Everbody is looking to unload the cooler at the end of the day..Maybe they should start advertising fish in a small paper or at marina's and tackle shops. This type of action should get this group expelled from all pro ams if they are found. Its a waste of good fish and makes the fishing comunnity look bad.. What a shame... btw what are they putting in the water on the east end of the lake .......Hmmmmmmmmmmm. First they beat some old timer half to death over a fishing spot on the salmon river second.. they are being robbed left and right for three weeks straight and now dumping fish rite out of the cooler into the marina waters.. Thats weird for sure...sorry for all your problems oswego.. Chris
  4. lets put it this way, I will give up everything on my boat but my riggers and my fishhawk...hope that says enough Chris
  5. As usual the oak has a variety of fish to be caught. Like rick has mentioned get in the truck and take the ride. The fishing out front within 2 miles of shore cant be beat. Rick had a beautiful steely on sunday. We had a really nice catch of kings on sat and even better on sunday.. The northern king gators and 42 second spoons have been going on a consistant basis. my gator paddles and the atommik green krinkle set back 250 on a 2 setting has been getting ripped off my boat for the last three days..and if any of you boys are trolling around out there and happen to catch my flashers and flies that are attached to some big boys could you please through the paddles back on my boat...lol....thank you to kevin bartnicki for the great trip i enjoyed fishing with everyone it was a great time...looking forward to more fun days at the oak..and remember please through back the 1 yr and 2 yr old fish for the future there are plenty of bigger fish to be caught. Thanks again and good luck.. Chris

  7. Ray, I couldn't agree more with you. get the boys and the girls together friends and family. Its all good fun when your doing something together. Chris
  8. Tom, Sorry to here about this. Its truly a kick in the pants and i certianly understand your frustration.. Hopefully they can get it resolved soon cause that stinks see ya on the water Chris
  9. jim, it goes like this. The derby wants to pay out a thousand dollars a day to the daily winner. The payout is based on how many enterance there are in the derby at the present time. If the number of enterants are lower than what is needed to pay a thousand dollars than the winner will be paid 70% of the total money paid into the derby. Bob Fisher paid the first 2 days a thousand buck each for promotions because the derby has not had enough enterants to meet the criteria for a 1000,00 pay out at this time but it is coming. The sooner people get off there butts and enter the sooner we can start paying the 1000.00 a day. To many people are more concerned about the payout before they have even caught the winning fish. As far as i am concerned any money won is better than nothing at all....50 or a 1000.00 just my oppinion. But hey what do i know.... Thanks Chris
  10. Ray, Your exactly right on the money. I agree with you. These guys are worried more about getting paid than they are about actually catching the fish first...lol. kinda putting the cart before the horse as my mom would say.... Chris
  11. Gentleman, The money was and is guarenteed for payouts. The derby decided to guarentee a thousand dollars for the first 2 days of their derby as many of you have more questions and concerns about the statice of the derby rather than paying the money to get entered. The derby is goin to be an annual event for years to come so get used to it. lol.The 70% payout guarantees you get paid and the derby still has room to work. Thats what everyone wants.. to get paid. thats what we are doing. But as long as people will procrastinate about the payout and are too afraid of buying in for a lousy 100.00 bucks for the year the tournement has no choice but to payout 70% of the total take. again this is done for the sole purpose of having the ability to keep paying so no one gets rear ended.. So buy in and get paid. As of today i dont have the total number for you. I am not involved with the financial end of things sorry about that. So again so many are afraid of loosing out like they did on the last one and thats not what this derby is about we are working very hard to keep it goin and we will. but the taste that the last derby has left in peoples mouths has also left doubt. People have also been doing a great job of trying to trash this tourney as well. So i suggest to all to send emails ask questions and you will have all the answers you will need. So please get your tickets and stop procrastinating and everyone will win. Thanks chris
  12. CaptSpike, The guys are right you really cant go wrong with the west end of the lake in may. There are plenty of good days to go fishing out there thats why so many of us captains go to it each year. You also really have to ask yourself what is really the most important part of your trip. I think that just spending the time on the water would outway the numbers game this time out. Keep it simple and easy for you guys as traveling could play a part in were you choose to fish with your buddy.. But i guess there is no place else i would rather be than on the water with my buddies too. Good Luck Capt. Chris
  13. Yes you will be able to purchase tickets at ur tackle shops that are a valid weigh station or on line. you are however going to be responsable for paying in american moneys. Thanks Mav
  14. Rick, As long as you dont call me later for dinner i dont care what you call me.. I herd your dad is doing much better as of late. God bless him he is a strong man. been prayin for ya... Chris
  15. king salmon, I understand your frustration.. i grew up with 2 bro and a sister..it was real hard for my dad to put food on table and take care of family none the less his fishing adventures w me so heres what we used to do on a very limited budget i hope it helps ya Find the closest port to fish from keep driving to a minimum Find a derby that you are willing to pay for. and only one for now. you have many event at a great price. Like tom posted you have all those events you can fish. Plus the spring loc which starts april 30 and goes till the 9 of may for 25 bucks and your fishing close to shore for a week like 30 ft and less..you will have all summer long to save for the fall loc derby (25 bucks) as well and again you wont end up in the shipping lane.. easy. there is also a pay every day derby thats going on and for 100.00 you can fish all year and have your chance to win a grand every day you fish. nothing like making a few thousand bucks while ur fishin.. and you also get to compete with all the other 3000 boats thats are fishing pro boats and am boats. that will test ur skills. beat the lake for a day.. r u up to it.. take small steps for now and fish what your wallet allows and thats it. Maybe by spending a bit of time around the area u may find some quality guys you would like to fish with. Then that in turn will open new avenues for you to go fishing as a team and split the bills..It takes time. Again i hope it helped ya. MAV
  16. Blue, Yes thats exactly rite. We are currently trying to get weigh stations at St catherines almost and including grimsby as of right now thats were it stands. We are putting together a list middle of next week of who exactly will be weighing the fish for you. When i get this list i will post asap. We are doing everything we can to get it done for ya so please be patient we still got time MAV
  17. Tim, Thanks for getting the news out. Also would like to pass on some info. The CARRY OVER RULE is back in effect as of 1/27/10. BOB Tim and I felt it would be better to have it then to leave it out..Thats good news. Also: Charter captians are exempt from purchasing a ticket. If the charter captian and 1 first mate aboard his vessle does not wish to collect any payouts from this tournement they do not have to purchase a ticket..They will have to have the ticket with them at all times and clearly marked as a " FREE" pass so that if there clients wish to fish this tourney all parties will be in. The captian who is lucky enough to have a regestered client put up the biggest fish for the month will recieve 1000.00 dollars from the tournement. If the captian and his 1 mate wish to collect a daily payout from this tourney then they are responsable for purchasing a tourney ticket like everyone else. Captians who recieve a free pass are not eligable to win any prize money what so ever on a daily basis. They are however qualified for the big fish award at the end of the month. All rules and regulations must be followed as set forth by touney comittee.. You can get more info at the lotsa event stop by my booth to chat or just find your way into the seminar room. lol We will do our best to answer all and any questions you might have. Fish on MAV
  18. Thanks howie. Its much appreciated.. We will do our best to keep this baby alive.. Mav
  19. Tom Thanks Alot for the support and encouragement. Its always appreciated. chris
  20. I would also like to note, I would definatley retire with tom if i could to fish all these tourneys.. Here have a beer on me Mav
  21. dave, Thanks for trying to kill the messanger..Let me help you get your facts straight. I am a part of the comittee in this derby, NOT THE WHOLE THING.. I am simply passing on info to fellow fisherman so they can have the most up to date info as possable. Everyone has asked what the deal was and i simply replied to the question asked. As you and Tom are both aware Bob and Tim fisher are the co owners of this tournement. dont tell me that u werent.I have been asked to get involved to help them from an outside perspective and for the life of the tourney. The rules will definatley be some what close in definition but not the same to what the original $1000.00 derby had which in turn also look alot like like yours as well. Was there a problem there too? As far as your tackle shops are concerned after talking with bob and tim most of them have been notified and have made comittments to be on board with this. I have no controll over that part of the tourney. As for your scales its really no problem for us to get our own and destribute them were needed. This is a big lake and there is plenty of room for everyone to fish and there certianly is nothing wrong with having fun trying to make a few bucks by winning the daily event. The money will most likely be spent back in the fishing community at some point. Maybe even on the A TOM MIK FLIES> So its good for the lake. and those who make there living off of it. right tom We already been working on new rule language so dont get your panties in a bunch.. The verbage you are reading was placed there for the sole purpose of getting web site space that would be needed. We dont want to copy nor do we want to ever use someone elses stuff...It certianly would be nice to have some cooperation from both sides dont you think. You can reach Bob anytime with questions or concerns at 585-637-8216 ..same number that tom listed on his very first report about this. Seems he was one of the few that new about this first and was also excited about it..in fact i believe tom was going to retire....lol. You can contact me as well if you choose too.I have nothing to hide. 585-749-2073 Thanks Mav
  22. Guys, Here is the deal with canada..No affence to you guys but as of right now canada is not in the playing cards. It is way too difficult to get fish inspected by us. The border is giving everyone a difficult time. We are currently working to get a weigh station at St. Catherines and surrounding area but it may not come to be until next season. You may fish the tourney and regester on line if you wish. However you will be responsable for getting fish across the border and weighed in. The rule of carry over has been changed. The new verbage will be posted as soon as we can get it up there. There will be no carry over money..That money will be dictated as written in my last post. As far as the weight of fish goes.. We are encorperating all species of salmonics..ie Salmon king and coho..browns lakers and steelhead/rainbows. We are doing this for the sole purpose of giving the trout fisherman a fighting chance to win. If a larger trout is caught that fish will beat out the salmon. It certianly stinks when a 26 lb laker should take the money and doent because its a trout and not a salmon. The biggest fish will win.. Again this is only to promote all species of salmonics. Next season will possably include a seperate trout catagory. Until then we are working this tourney as is. We do understand that we have fine tunning that needs to get done..we are not perfect. However we are looking to keep this around for years to come not just for a yr or 2. only to go upside down like the last one. we are looking down the road as well..Again all will be based on tourney entries. Moneys will be spent paying back to boats. All of it. Thanks MAV
  23. Gentlemen, As of right now there will be no carry over money. Instead we are working to pay more than that out. We are currently working on and im sure that this will come to be part of tourney a monthly winner as well as a spring summer and fall winner all of whom will recieve an additional 1000.00. also there will be a big fish awarded for the year which is going to pay big money..how much well we wont know until we get this going. But there will be moneys spent up and down the board. The guys who fish in the spring and win will not be left out either. We know that spring fish can not compete very well with summer and fall fish so we will aslo be paying the lower bunch as well. how many places we wont know again until we are running and ticket sales are recieved. the more purchased the more payed out. were trying to get as much paid back to us as possable. we have great ideas that will make this a fun tourney with a chance at some nice cash for everyone. Also I am working on offering a bad weather privlage which is as follows If in the event that you are blown off the lake or are unable to compete for the day in which you choose to fish we are offering to you a chance to carry your ticket over into the next day without having to pay again. If you bring your tickets to the place of purchase on the blow off day before 9 am they will time and date stamp it and give you a free pass to fish the following day. The following day only. If you do not get your tickets stamped in the allowed time frame then you loose out. Pay attention to the time.. i am also working on a nice package for charter captians as well...more to follow on that Will get back to you on the canadian weigh stations. Thanks Mav
  24. gentlemen, You can pay each day if you wish wen you can fish or you can buy in for the year. the pricing is as follows if i am correct. 35.00 for each individual day 100.00 for the year. There are also early bird specials on feb 1 2010 for anyone interested in that. pricing will be a bit different for early birds. go to web site payeveryday.com on feb 1, 2010 and the web page should be complete and ready for ticket sales.. right now they are still working some bugs out but it will be ready by the first. Thats what been talked about. The new owners are very aggressive people who are trying to plan this event for years to come. please be patient if questions are not answered every day as we all have alot to do.. please feel free to stop by and visit with us at the LOTSA flea market in newfane on feb 28 Thanks MAV
