Question for Down Deep: I am having trouble removing hatches (to place gasket in channel behind hinges) since it's hard to remove nuts from hinges; how did you do that? I am thinking of putting gasket on underside of hatch, rather than in the channel; do you think that would work? Thanks for your input! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Any browns around henderson?

How is access via stony creek launch? Reports had warned of very low water levels for springtime, so what,s up with that? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -

I,d like to see the spring latches you mention. Can you post a pic? I had heard about gaskets to keep rainwater out of fish wells, but not sure how to proceed. Where did you get the gaskets, and did you simply use marine goop to install them under the lid of fish box? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Trophy 2052WA Rigging Set-Up - Sonar/GPS and Rod Holders
mullenj replied to gl1's topic in This Old Boat
Ditto on the gunwales, but cabin is not an issue for me. Also, I have outboard so no doghouse. Motor well is large but not really in the way much. I would also like some pics, as I am trying to add more functionality to my 2 rigger setup. Another issue: I am trying to get a hardtop on my 2006 Trophy WA2002. Anybody know a marina in upstate ny that does that sort of thing? I have started a thread for trophy owners, so hope to continue trading info. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -

Any ideas what marinas or private shops near Big O specialize in installing hardtops on WA boats like my trophy? I saw a charter mate with the same boat I have and he had a great setup, but I forget where he said he had the work done, but thought it was near Rochester. Might make a final trip to Port Ontario region to target fish off of river mouths; is anyone still fishing the lake? Last year we tried spring tactics during this time of year with not much success; apparently, the action must be slow because we saw very few boats at this time last year. I realize most salmon are in the streams by now, but shouldn't steelies and browns be in the area?

My existing tires are labeled "ST" which supposedly means they are specific to trailers; the brand is Carlisle, so they might not be the best, as I bought the boat&trailer this year, and the old owner included these new tires. I have read some posts here that argue radials are okay, especially since they dissapate heat better. On my old (non-tandem) trailer, I replaced 2 sets of standard bias trailer tires before replacing them with radials, which gaver me no problems at all; but perhaps radials are not a good idea for the tandem trailers. Thanks for any info and further advice!

Trailer Tire problems: My tandem trailer tires are "cupping" on the outside; do you suppose that is the result of the axle being bent so that it is too "high"? I would like to replace these tires with radials, but am afraid I will also wear them out quickly. Any ideas as to what to check first? Its a karavan trailer that has been lightly used, but maybe I should begin by taking it to a shop to get the alignment fully checked. Any ideas/suggestions most appreciated.

2 Cannon Mini-mag electric downriggers; NEW price ($240) now includes 2 low-profile swivel bases for mounting; these swivel bases themselves are $100 new. All in great working order; selling only becasue of upgrade to new boat with larger riggers. Trying my best to get these out of my garage, so I am lowballing the price!
