  1. Question for Down Deep: I am having trouble removing hatches (to place gasket in channel behind hinges) since it's hard to remove nuts from hinges; how did you do that? I am thinking of putting gasket on underside of hatch, rather than in the channel; do you think that would work? Thanks for your input! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  2. I could only get gasket 5/8 Wide by 3/8 H at west marine. Is that same width you used? Channel is wider, but hopefully it still works. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  3. How is access via stony creek launch? Reports had warned of very low water levels for springtime, so what,s up with that? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  4. Thanks for the detailed info. Both will be in my boat this spring. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  5. I,d like to see the spring latches you mention. Can you post a pic? I had heard about gaskets to keep rainwater out of fish wells, but not sure how to proceed. Where did you get the gaskets, and did you simply use marine goop to install them under the lid of fish box? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  6. Ditto on the gunwales, but cabin is not an issue for me. Also, I have outboard so no doghouse. Motor well is large but not really in the way much. I would also like some pics, as I am trying to add more functionality to my 2 rigger setup. Another issue: I am trying to get a hardtop on my 2006 Trophy WA2002. Anybody know a marina in upstate ny that does that sort of thing? I have started a thread for trophy owners, so hope to continue trading info. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  7. Looking for a forum for trophy boat owners. I have a WA2002 (2006 model year). There used to be one on the Iboat forum but can't find it now. I have questions about upgrading fish wells, and also hardtop retro-fits. Any others interested? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  8. Any ideas what marinas or private shops near Big O specialize in installing hardtops on WA boats like my trophy? I saw a charter mate with the same boat I have and he had a great setup, but I forget where he said he had the work done, but thought it was near Rochester. 9. Could someone draw that up for me. I am confused about to rig that setup with the clamp release on the wire line.. Thanks!. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  10. Was that on Monday? We also had a screamer king at 12 noon Monday out of Mexico, about 18 lbs. Only other hits were 3'skippies. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  11. Where is the pic of this fish posted? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  12. Looking for any info or reports about fishing the trench and the "wall" area in recent days. I plan to camp at association island and hope the wind cooperates. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  13. Thanks for the info! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  14. I may head to stony point launch on Tuesday. I am looking for info about how it's been in this area for browns. Hope to troll drowned island area with boards in 10-25 fow. Any body had success there lately? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  15. Has anybody had success launching out of stony, fishing near Drowned island? Water temps too low still? Perhaps Rays bay has warmer water? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  16. Might make a final trip to Port Ontario region to target fish off of river mouths; is anyone still fishing the lake? Last year we tried spring tactics during this time of year with not much success; apparently, the action must be slow because we saw very few boats at this time last year. I realize most salmon are in the streams by now, but shouldn't steelies and browns be in the area?
  17. My existing tires are labeled "ST" which supposedly means they are specific to trailers; the brand is Carlisle, so they might not be the best, as I bought the boat&trailer this year, and the old owner included these new tires. I have read some posts here that argue radials are okay, especially since they dissapate heat better. On my old (non-tandem) trailer, I replaced 2 sets of standard bias trailer tires before replacing them with radials, which gaver me no problems at all; but perhaps radials are not a good idea for the tandem trailers. Thanks for any info and further advice!
  18. Trailer Tire problems: My tandem trailer tires are "cupping" on the outside; do you suppose that is the result of the axle being bent so that it is too "high"? I would like to replace these tires with radials, but am afraid I will also wear them out quickly. Any ideas as to what to check first? Its a karavan trailer that has been lightly used, but maybe I should begin by taking it to a shop to get the alignment fully checked. Any ideas/suggestions most appreciated.
  19. Is anybody still trying to take fish in this general area; hope to make the trip this weekend, but am wondering if steelhead and browns might be in the area and at what depths; may try trolling near in close to shore with planer boards also. Any reports?
  20. How is the trench area producing this time of year? Should be still decent for staging kings? Possibly some cohoo and browns as well? I know the lakers will usually be there, but hoping to find ideal depth for other species; any reports?
  21. 2 Cannon Mini-mag electric downriggers; NEW price ($240) now includes 2 low-profile swivel bases for mounting; these swivel bases themselves are $100 new. All in great working order; selling only becasue of upgrade to new boat with larger riggers. Trying my best to get these out of my garage, so I am lowballing the price!
  22. Still NEWER price; $275 for both riggers with swivel bases included; all in good condition; excellent choice for finger lakes trolling.
