paprman replied to paprman's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Ok, Thanks! I was hoping they were leaving it open during all this construction. -

Fishing kayak (Wilderness Ride 135)
paprman replied to paprman's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Yes it's a SOT. Ocean Trident 11. About 2 ft shorter and 15lbs lighter. It's not as stable as the ride but it's ok. On one hand less stable but on the other more maneuverable and easier to get up on my Xterra. -

No, I've all ready replaced it with a shorter and lighter model. This one could be tough getting up on my Xterra. This isn't the best time to sell it so I may still have it in the spring. Will see? -
Fishing kayak (Wilderness Ride 135)

Wilderness ride 135 Sit on top kayak. This yak is 13.5 ft long and weights about 70lbs. It's very stable, can stand up in it. Includes two rod holders, paddle, and has an anchor trolley installed. $575 or BO. Greece [email protected] 585-489-1305 http://www.wildernesssystems.com/produc ... 135_angler -
I would recommend the SOT.The SOT are easier to get in and out of. I have a Wilderness ride 135. Its 13.5ft 32inch wide. They're about $900 new. Not sure what you can get for $500 but I wouldn't go under 11ft. If I had to do it again I'd get one about 12ft and 30+inch wide. Wider is slower of course but more stable for fishing. That being said I would go with one a little smaller for the type of fishing I do, bass fishing. Mine is big enough to hold camping equipment and whatever. I'll probably never make use of the space. Your size is a consideration. I'm 6ft 3inch 220lbs so some what limited on how small kayak I could use. If you're 150lbs you definitely can go smaller. Try this site for more info:http://members.cox.net/wkfa.org/

Docks at Sandy are partially under water. You need boots or get wet feet. No problems at I-Bay launch and it's probably closer to you. Been getting some kings in 100 to 200 ft, about 3-5 miles off shore out of I-Bay but I don't think the lake forecast is very good for Sunday?

I doubt it. I don't think having a season pass would make any difference but I don't know for a fact either way?
-
The Irondequoit Bay launch at the north end of the bay in Rochester. Buy the passes at the launch, $100 regular and $65 for senior 62.
-
That's good to know they have the passes. I agree, they should give you a sticker for each trailer. I not sure what's happening at the river launch as they've taken the launch fee signs down. I hope they don't close the launch?
-
Is anybody besides me irritated that they have to keep buying a daily launch pass and can't buy a season launch pass yet. I buy one ever year as I use the launch 50 or 60 times a season. I've also been told the pass won't be good for the Genesee river launch? Anybody know what's going on with that launch?

Thanks for the update.
