  1. Hey Wet the net, I stole this from another site...but it had all the info you were looking for! --Joe
  2. Larry, That is exactly what I was hoping for! I will no doubt be traveling to both of them. I am extremely excited for this to break me out of my winter funk --Joe
  3. The 17th was a Tuesday...is the actual date for the meeting the 19th? --Joe
  4. thumbs up from me! I would definitely show for this. Would the buffalo and rochester seminars be different topics, or the same? --Joe

Mark: Great article about your late-season fishing in the Buffalo News today. I really liked your jingle! Happy New Year everyone. --Joe
  6. Anyone get any great fishing gifts that they would like to share? My only fishing gift this year was a new boat hook...After trying to launch the boat at Conesus in December, this will come in very handy! --Joe
  7. Merry Christmas everyone! Bob: My new years resolution is to learn Walleye fishing next year so I can spend some time fishing while the musky season is closed in NY and when the water temps are too warm to try to fight musky. Hope everyone had a great year...and I hope next year is that much better! --Joe
  8. Speedy recovery for your shoulder, Bob! I know you have been struggling with it for awhile, so hopefully after healing it will be 100% and you will be killing us on the water again --Joe
  9. Zach -- Welcome back to town. I do not think Happy is the correct word...the feeling was more like how a little kid would feel on Christmas morning! Check your PMs when you have a chance. --Joe
  10. Very sad to hear the fall tourney is going away. I agree with Chad that it was my favorite of the year. Larry, I know all of the work you put into the tournaments every year and hope you get enough thanks from the participants for everything you do to make each one a success...or at least know that I greatly appreciate all of your efforts! Does this open an opportunity to have more a fun tournament for all of us during the fall? Maybe a small tourney of some sorts...one of my favorite parts of the tourneys is when we can all get together and catch up. I also think it would be more fun for Larry since he could actually fish it and not have to sit at the pavilion while we are all trying to catch the big one! --Joe
  11. Panfisher: This fish was caught in Lake Erie (11-4) trolling with a lure that Zach custom painted for Captain Larry Jones. Big congrats goes out to Capt. Larry Jones and Vic Thibault for landing such an awesome, fat fish! Zach: How great does it feel to see something that you did show such amazing results? I would expect that it has to be one of the better feelings out there --Joe
  12. Dan: We were the second last truck to leave the launch on Saturday. I told Chad that I thought it was your truck and trailer that was still there, but we did not see you on the lake. I am excited to hear about your trip and maybe get to see some pictures of your fish. The best part about chad falling in the water (well, all of it was great actually) was that he got so upset thinking that he was getting texts from you and from Ronix of fish caught (if you guys were fishing) and that his phone was dead from the water! I had a really good time fishing this weekend and hope to get out next weekend also. My niece is having her baptism on Sunday, so it looks like Saturday is my only chance. Ronix: I will be watching the weather closely throughout the week, but will give you a call later in the week if I am going to get to go. --Joe
  13. Great report! What a "last trip" for the season it must have been for you Oh, and a little early, but big congrats to you and your wife. When you officially become a dad, make sure to post some pics...it will be the best catch of your life! --Joe
  14. Great fishing guys! How did your third guy in the boat do? Oh, that is right...I canceled because I was nervous of the weather (stupid stupid stupid)! I am still glad you guys had such an amazing day with insane numbers and even better sizes Red October Baits is actually known for some great hardware used. I know they use some of the best hooks and split rings on the market. I am guessing you were using a "through the nose" setup which is known to have a lower hookup rating. Check your rig at the top to see if there is an extra hole (eye) where you can add a split ring and an extra treble hook. Mark Arena has a great description about this on a youtube video done in 2010 -- 27nkkK8uXLI Take a look around the 1 minute mark for a good explanation and a quick demo. Again, great fishing! --Joe
  15. Ha. Chad has used my trollin rods more than i have this year! I still have to find a way to rig the boat for trolling...how can a boat manufacturer not give you room to reach the gunwales? --Joe
  16. Billy, What a great looking fish! Were there any marks on her? From everything I am reading, I am interested in the sizes that are getting caught this fall on a cast vs trolling. It seems like most trolling fish are on the smaller size while a number of fish caught casting have just been amazing. --Joe
  17. Absolutely great fishing, Dan! To catch numbers yesterday must have been fun, but catching the numbers with the sizes you had must have been amazing. Oh, and I love the part about the camera and pictures taken by people nearby! --Joe
  18. Nice fishing (and report) Chad. Hopefully Dan will post about his fishing today along with some pictures of his fish Mike: I will be taking a day trip down to Chautauqua this weekend as long as the weather does not get out of control. Currently Sunday looks the best. --Joe
  19. Dan What a fatty! It is looking like the bite might be getting more consistent. Do you know what the water temps were yesterday? --joe
  20. Here are the results (from the NMA email chain): 20 guys entered 5 fish total caught 1st place - 40" 2nd - 36" 3rd - 33" The other 2 fish were a 34" fish (the guys did not get in for weigh in) and a 31" fish (they lost the fish when holding it for a pictures). I did not hear anything about prizes that were given. --Joe
  21. Was there a tournament this weekend on Waneta? Anyone fish it? --Joe
  22. Larry, The lure was a Sebile Stick Shadd 182 (sinking). I thought they used owner hooks (ST-46 2x tin trebles short shank), but I could be wrong. --Joe
  23. Thought I would add the picture of the bent hook to the thread... --Joe
  24. The water color is a little better than the tournament weekend, but still not great. Also, the bite has been real tight. Everyone that I have been talking to are seeing only a few follows and even less catches. Hopefully the weather changes and wind shifts will turn the bite back on. I am in a 17.5' 2006 Tracker Deep V with a walk thru windshield. I have not had a chance to musky fish myself (starting the week fishing with my family and making sure they are enjoying their time means a lot of perch fishing and also trying for bass and walleye). Hopefully I will be out on the water going for Mr. Toothy tomorrow and the rest of the week! I will keep an eye out for you and ask that you wave to me if you spot me first. Best of luck fishing. --Joe
