  2. I will be coming out to Seneca to do some Laker fishing. I will be coming form Buffalo and have never fished Seneca. The only reason I'm heading out that way is because a friend of mine just moved out there and heard that the Laker fishing is pretty good on Seneca. So, any advice as to where to launch, start fishing (trolling or jigging) and most importantly what to use? Thanks for the info. Tony (Slapshot)

  10. Tim, Besides the spoons I also ran a mtn. dew SD with a NBK fly 135' out and a white on white SD with a purple mirage and neither fired. Ran various spoons, riggers set at 70, 60, 50, 40 out over 200 - 250' of water. We hooked our small one to the west and made our way east. Tony
  11. Tim, thanks for the info. We did get 1, small, about 5 #. I think I need more practice on the Lake. How did you do today? We got ours on the 42 second spoon, that I purchased this morning. Tony

  15. I'm thinking of heading up on Sunday. In your guys professional opinion what port would be a better place to start? I am also taking my brother-in-law and dad out salmon fishing for their first time. Thanks Slapshot.

  17. Finally got the boat ready and work is cooperating. Thinking of heading up to either Wilson or Olcott? Can anyone give me their thoughts on where you think I should start to have a successful trip? Thanks and good luck to all. Keep on fishin!!
  18. Can anyone offer and information as to the use of superbraid with slide divers? I heard that superbraid does not work with slide divers. That the diver will just keep sliding down the line. If so, how do you stop the slider form sliding down the line? Thanks!!
  19. I bought a couple of the slide divers and would like to try them for the first time. I have used dipsey divers. Currently my reels have braided line on them for the dipsey's and slide divers. I believe that this combination is also good to use, so I've been told. I'll find out this year for myself once I get out and test the slide divers on my super braid.
  20. I am sort of new to the whole salmon fishing techniques on Lake Ontario. I've fished many of time on Lake Erie for walleye. However, we know have 6 OKUMA Convector Reels, 2 with braid and 4 with 20 # Big game clear line. I would like to pick up 2 more reels that are a little cheaper but are of good quality. What would you guys recommend? Thanks.
  21. I know that there has been alot of info. about what to use as far as stickbaits or spoons ans colors. My question is, what size is most commonly used, smaller or larger baits? Thanks,
  22. I know that this subject has probally been brought up in the past, but since I am new to this site and salmon fishing in the spring (which I have never done before). I will ask any ways. What are your thoughts on using J-Plugs in the spring at the bar? Are they worth it? Also, I wanted to comment on the which two spoons questions, great info., I guess x-mas will come early this year since I own none of the spoon mentioned. Thanks to all who reply to this question.
  23. I am new to the salmon fishing on the Big-O as my buddy and I just purchased a boat. Its all rigged, as we did some fall salmon fishing, but we still have a lot to learn. Anyways, if you guys could offer some information as to what month to start fishing? where to go ? and what tackle and bait to use? I appreciate all of your info, Thanks, and good luck fishing in the coming year!
